Iirc the MC is turning 15 with this coming spring as he turned 14 last spring(ish).

I dont think it was ever stated though in the original Akiko looked much older - maybe the art? Around mid-lat 20s? While here she barely looks over 20

Interesting. Did this happen in the original? I thought I would care more... hopefully now he'll go on an interesting journey or something instead of sitting around. I guess it's stil winter so that might be hard though.

Why? She put out food in the open, he put out food in the open. What did she do differently? I mean to feed them they would have had to be in the area to begin with. This is just straight-up a plot hole.

In the original Satoru threw his leftovers in the river while she was lazy and just threw them in the woods next to them which caused them to gather there

Uh, yeah, again, I still don't get why the rats only showed up after she did. If he had no qualms just laying food out in the open (again!), shouldn't they have arrived even without her feeding them? Man, this feels plot point contrived.
