WHAT.
Holy crap.. just hit me that this was finished...
Many thanks for working on this, Dumbnut! (and company?) It's a great piece in my view. Enjoyed the ending as well, I feel happy that he'll meet up with his mother and sister. Showcasing it would just be making tears with faces on, and shouting I guess.
The two last frames were nice as well.
Use your imagination
What a great manga
Though the ending seems a bit abrupt I still thoroughly enjoyed it
Thank you very much for the scans and translations
Mmmh knowing the author the real ending has Satoru finding the dead remains of his mother and sister, just moments before a landslide made out of rats and cannibals come to end him, and that's the end.
So with this we actually get to speculate about him maybe getting a rest.
...maybe the writer ended it here to resist the urge to make another horrible thing happen to Satoru just as he reaches his family.
It's the only way he could make it a happy ending.
THAT'S the ending? Really?
What a cop out
that's it?...
thanks for the scanslator for scanslating this manga...
but seriously... that's it?...
Also, guys, I only found recently about it, in the description of the manga on Batoto, don't miss the re-make:

This was a really nice read. The end was abit too open for my taste but oh well. The first arc was my favourite, it really had a survival feeling with all the traps.
Kind of similar format to the end of Sukeban Chainsaw which also just finished.
And with that, it's over?!? O_o
Well, as everyone said, it was fine for the greater part of it, so, Dumbnut, thank you dearly for your work, it deserves praise and gratitude
Considering the previous 6 volumes, the epilogue would be them stumbling on a jackass village, try to help and get killed and eaten.
I guess it's good that it ended because not knowing it was the last chapter I opened it thinking "if it keeps being the same crap over and over I'm unsubbing".
k,
Thanks dumbnut for all the work he and whoever helped him did. Thank you very much.
Cf. the ending of Bleach.
You're absolutely right, but the oversimplified storytelling style of the period that this manga was drawn in; is still ever evident with zero hints of any nuances(often parodied nowadays)--where human emotions always feels forced. So in the end it comes off looking like an old 70's kung-fu movie with unsuitable English voice actors overdubbed, becoming awkward sounding and looking.
The way I read this last chapter (paraphrased):
If the bonus volume gets posted, I hope he finds the rest of his family, and goes
"bleach it"?
This felt like sex. By that, I mean it caused me to accumulate a lot of fatigue and left me ultimately unsatisfied.
Whaat? Sudden end ?
And he ran so far away...
Well, that felt a little lackluster after a what felt like a million chapters.... but, I can imagine he finally was reunited.
I wonder if that remake does anything different, but it seems work on it has halted for the time being.
Wait. Uh... what?
Definitely thanks to Dumbnut and co. for the translations. It was a fun ride. I just didn't expect that the author would Bleach it at the end. >.>
Edit: didn't realize there was a bonus volume. Feeling
fairlyfaintly hopeful now.That's it?
