The synopsis makes no sense. How does she become his mistress when she is already married to him?

No use complaining that it's all about white women civilizing the brown people...the "beast/womanizer/general-purpose-alph-hole being tamed and transformed into a monogamous and devoted husband by the power of the woman's magic hoo-hah ™" is what romance novels are about regardless of the race and/or ethnicity of the characters.

...which, to be more fair to romance novels than they deserve, is a literary trope with a storied history going all the way back to "The Epic of Gilgamesh".

Many romance manga, though, aren't about that.  Even the shounen ones are more often the reverse, with the beast/maneater/general-purpose-alph-hole being tamed and transformed into a monogamous and devoted wife by the power of the nebbishy man's magic-though-submissive D.

As to Gilgamesh . . . I guess, in a homoerotic sort of way, the friendship of Gilgamesh and Enkidu is like that.

But even if that setup is going to be there, I find it a lot easier to swallow if there's a bit of subtlety, a bit of nuance, a bit of averting.  This kind of stuff . . . gag me.

I've read dozens of variations of this same summary on the backs of numerous western novels, esp. those from 20 years ago. It's just sad.

"The Arabian Mistress" (where's the "sheikh"?)

"Begging for Prince Tariq Shadad ibn Zachir's mercy..."

This is every summary and title I've ever seen whenever it concerns an Arab country in these (shitty)novel adaptations of bad romance. Why does this sub-genre have to invade manga, too? *sob*

THE WHITE WOMAN SWOOPS IN AND CIVILIZES THE BARBARIC NON-WESTERN ARAB SHEIKH OF HIS INHERENT BARBARISM WITH HER LOVE AND ~~SMUTS~~ AND HER WESTERN PROGRESSIVE-NESS

Give me a fucking break.

The setup is somewhat cliched but nonetheless interesting (since the "cultural crash" has not been introduced yet), therefore followed
