For a manga with such a strange premise, it has a much stronger slice-of-life element than I expected and features a surprisingly realistic take on a number of themes including the transition into adulthood and feelings of social isolation.
In fact, I would argue that Asumi's arrow, though played for laughs, is largely (and successfully in my opinion) used as a driving force to depict the developing relationship between two teens and the emotional troubles they face as they grow to love each other.
While some people may be put off by the art style, I do recommend this series for fans of slice-of-life romantic comedies. Moreover, each chapter is only around 10-12 pages so its a much quicker read than the chapter count might indicate!
Awww that "drunk on cola". Reminds me of AMG... Great, now it's full of perverts. The art isn't that bad, the story is nice and the MC's are adorable. I liked the Extra Akemi Channel, would be nice see that serialized.
Weirdly compelling... I remember reading this while it was being scanlated and losing track of it. I had a sudden thought years later, "What about that manga about the girl with an arrow in her head?" And so I found it here completely scanlated.
The style of art and writing is definitely a struggle at times but it was worth it to see Asumi grow. Her and Yamada are really interesting characters. Also, the Boobie Troup should definitely be in prison, right?
