However, he soon discovers that Ibari is the boss of the Oozora Group mob ring. Uneasy about his predicament, he considers leaving, but he has second thoughts when he meets Ibari's four daughters–Tsugumi, Tsubame, Suzume and Hibari–only to find out that Hibari is actually Ibari's only son. Now Kousaku must not only cope with living among mobsters but also with refusing Hibari's advances toward him.

What a seriously charming manga, I really wish I'd found this sooner. It's hard to find modern manga/anime that treat characters who, in the real world, would be trans as anything more than fetish fuel, which is disappointing as someone who first found representation in manga.

It's a shame the ending didn't really tie anything up, but it was still a really fun read.

Well, sometimes people burn out.  I'd been wondering now and then lately, the chapters had so many random bits including that one whole chapter basically about writer's block.  Kind of felt like maybe the guy was running out of steam.

Plus there's a problem.  This was a relatively old manga, right?  When it was being written, and in the publication it was in, there could be some trouble ending this manga.  I mean, the obvious ending is he gives in and becomes Hibari-kun's boyfriend.  Was mainstream boy-manga ready for that?  Joking around with the cute cross-dresser is one thing, but a "Prunus Girl" ending might have been difficult at the time.

(Prunus Girl rules)

I hate it when Manga does this especially when it's good. At the very least they could have ended the story a little more smoothly.

Its unfortunate that the manga Ended so abruptly. Its still wonderful that its been translated after so long. Now if only the anime was translated.

Stopped!!  Hibari-Kun!

. . . pity.

Aww, balls -- I'm really going to miss reading this one.

Thanks Hachimitsu Scans for bringing this to us!

:{

Such an abrupt ending, I really want to see the development between Hibari and Kousaku's relationship.

Oh well, at least I have fun reading.

Thanks Hachimitsu Scans for translating this great manga.

huh? it ended? that's.... pretty anticlimatic...

Is that really it? ...I guess I was expecting a manga like this to run far longer for some reason or another. I got the impression it was fairly popular, and it did have an anime. Did the author just burn out or did he somehow get in trouble for the whole boy's manga is dead thing?

Well, at any rate, it was lighthearted fare that never took itself seriously, so I don't really have too many complaints about the ending -- other than there being an ending at all so soon.

Awww, I'm going to miss this. Q-Q

So... Don't sleep, bath or shoot meth together with other guys, or else... your kids can have some issues with their gender...

Sounds about right. .-.

Why does Hibari embody reasonable aspects of femininity (and being overall a decent person) but this new character embodies the obnoxious aspects of masculinity (and is more or less being a douche)?

What?  No, no no no.  He's not embodying aspects of masculinity as such, he (she) is obviously embodying aspects of manga history, and not really all that negative.  He's the strong tough masculine delinquent protagonist (presumably with a heart of gold) so common in certain manga eras past, the kind also parodied in things like Angel Densetsu.  He's there partly to do comedy poking fun at that old trope, but also to poke fun at the Oozora family's somewhat bizarre and half-hearted rendition of the whole Yakuza thing by contrast with his pure devotion to old school delinquent heart-on-sleeve guts.  Actually being a girl both helps undercut the whole thing for comedy and of course works with the rest of the manga, Hibari-kun and so on.

There's lots of comic potential here.  Looks like a fun character.

Huh.  Most manga authors complain about deadlines and writer's block, but it's not often I see one do a whole chapter about it.  Eguchi-sensei has panache.

HA! I saw it coming,

Spoiler

i know some kind of twist will come but totally didnt expect that last page.

Oh God. LMAO! He looks like a guy though and Hibari's face is totally a girl's face. XD

That school principal... so Prison School-ish :D

or rather, maybe he was inspiration for prison school author?

Resistant is futile!!!

No, just his level of resistance.

And Hibari's um... lack of any common sense, sense of morality, sense of restraint, and sense of inhibition. I mean lets face it Hibari's original idea was probably "Get him drunk and take him to bed" Plus... Hibari is stronger than him... force is ALWAYS an actual option.

i feel like katagiri-kun's name is a play on katagi. if so, that's hilarious.

LMAO! I just love how they question Kousaku's integrity. XD
