I think Soremachi is regarded as a mainstream in the sol/comedy genre. Can't really compare it with the battle shounen genre though.
Anyway, re-reading the whole thing is always fun since the story didn't follow chronological order and i keep discovering new details i missed the first time. I really think this series could become a timeless classic so more people could appreciate it,

Where did this come from?!?! Oh my... I had reconciled myself to never seeing any more additions to my beloved Soremachi, and, suddenly, here is this epilogue!
Mr. Ishiguro created such an immersive little world with such relatable characters, that it felt like a real place, as if he was merely writing and drawing about it. It felt as though, even when the pages would end, the lives of all those people would carry on. I know it's just an illusion. But, I am compelled to say, this mangaka truly has the magic touch -- the ability to make you believe. I will not be churlish. This series has been, quite simply, a privilege to have read.
Thank you, Ishiguro-sensei, for giving us, the readers, one more glimpse into Hotori's life. How beautiful she looks. She will grow to be a fine young woman.

So I read the new chapter, having not read any of the more than 50 in between, and it made no difference at all. You could have told me it was the next chapter and I wouldn't have known.
