I am not a violent person. That said, if one of my cousins pulled a stunt like that, I'd (try to) beat the crap out of her and then I'd never speak to her again. This heroine wasn't even mad? Neither hero was particularly mad either? Wtf. Also, major cop out in that last chapter.

Seems like something I would have written as a 12-year old when I just learned about abortion, mixed with whatever idea I have of a troubled high school girl moving to a smaller town from the city.

I kinda liked how this started, but it changed speeds (and directions) fassst. All well and dandy that it ends as

Pff. Because if it had been true, she'd be trash, right? Can't have our sparkly tragic shojo heroine with something like that in her past. No, of course it wasn't her, she was just protecting her nameless faceless non-heroine friend who she doesn't talk to or think about anymore. Hmm? Oh, no, of course we're not saying anything bad about that friend! We would never! That would be rude! It's just that this is supposed to be a respectable story about innocent teenage love, you know? If we had a character - or heaven forbid, a main character - who had done something like that, well, who knows what people would say! We're really just thinking about what's best for the story, you understand. It's nothing personal.

You know, one of the first manga I ever actually read was Bitter Virgin, by Kusonoki Kei. I was fairly young at the time, so I didn't really understand why the characters did what they did sometimes, but thinking about it now, I'm incredibly grateful for the experience.

hahah, it's like a little rollercoaster that spits you out at the end.

Imo it's too fast and a bit choppy i can't get into the flow.

Welp but I like the ending,

Not sure whether I've grown out of fast-paced one-volume manga like this one.. but seriously? How does anything justify enclosing such a big secret about your cousin, your family, why does she even think that Yuito will like her if she tells something like that?? I get that she feels insecure if she constantly compares herself to Ayu, but it's not really Ayu's fault and if she really wanted Yuito to look her way, why didn't she even try harder to pursue him instead of.. I'm not really sure what she was doing then. 

I generally hate love triangles and squares, but it's been quite a while since I read such a story where the main character is the 'pretty one', so it's a bit refreshing. Especially knowing "i'm so plain..and she's so pretty..." is very unlikely to pop up in Ayu. But these shoujo mangakas have their ways anyway....

 

That poor girl's been slowly getting closer to the guy she likes, and then her "perfect" cousin pops out of nowhere one day and steals away his attention without even meaning to - I think she's a bit justified in being angry, but she should have at least let Ayu know about her feelings before she actively started to get in her way. 

 

That doesn't really justify anything she is doing. Ayu isn't trying to steal away her crush. It isn't like she even knows that her cousin has a crush on him.
