The translation is kind of direct to the source, so it sounds a bit weird. 

I understood the lines. My point was that those lines exhibited very broken English.

Aside from some of the quality lines in this, ("what a-not understand-rule kind" and "how in the world is no?") I have to ask how the Author thought it made sense to give everyone Chinese names in the Mediterranean Sea... (unless this is mistranslated as the Mediterranean)
