I think we might be reading different comics. It seemed really clear to me that what Shinobu WANTS is to feel the hardness of Kasugai's long sword with her body.
And also to be struck with her blade.
Just take what this manga says with a grain of salt
For one I dunno why they are even implying hollywood-style chain-mace to be actual weapons
Two, they previously demonstrated that bashing a sword directly against a helmet is okay - I mean yeah I guess you're not going to get your skull split open but the shock will jolt the fuck out of you plus injuring your neck is a real possibility
From what little I know, shield to shield should be allowed, but shield to body isn't, due to the same reasons of safety.
Heavy combat is a sport, not an actual battle where you're trying to kill the guy, lol

Is attacking with shield not allowed? Ok, it might be a bit hazardous, but it's a freaking shield - the most popular weapon of most cultures of the world!
