Well, for people less cantankerous than myself this would probably be cute and heartwarming. It's really fairly well done. But

I find myself thinking "Oh, so her dad ignored her until the day he died and we're supposed to feel good about it because afterwards he left her a frigging dress?! Give me a bleedin' break! So what if it's made of the fabric of his life or whatever, he's buying her off with a consumer good and he couldn't even be bothered to do that while he was still alive--this does not make it all okay!!!
