Well lets create a little perspective. First of all, I don't generally dislike NTR on the standpoint of something being taken away from the protagonist especially in a harem story. I get a bit more agitated when the story is two people who actually care about each other getting the NTR treatment but that's another story. Rather I primarily dislike the breaking of the girl involved, twisting her personality or rationality into something grotesque. Rape or blackmail, or what have you, eventually twisting (and in especially poorly written stories corrupting) the heroine into bending to the will of the other person. It's emotional (and oft physical) torture porn. Some people get off to tormenting women and (often) turning them into sex fiends who see nothing but. I don't.
As for the NTR in this story, I could take or leave it (prefer to leave it but eh). There's some bad stuff ahead, but it's not the ending, and that's a powerful distinction to make. The author definitely did seem to go down a bad patch somewhere during their break and busted out some darker themes, but honestly there is still some hope. Somewhere. Maybe. Honestly, considering how drugged up the girls always seem to need to be to "enjoy" the moment, I'd hardly even call it NTR. Just forced delirious rape with a heaping spoonful of remorse and self-hatred afterwards.
Isn't that every harem manga ever?
