Its like...i don't know, traditional shounen in Hinamizawa. Pretty cool, and even if it's totally orthodox, for some reason i like Oogami. He's cool.

You don't translate character names as a convention. Usually location names, but if the location's translation is of importance, I've seen those translated as well. Names of attacks and items and whatnot depend on who's doing the translation. Or are you going to try and argue that a good 40-50% of the scanlation community is doing it wrong for translating attack names into their English equivalent?

Isn't the Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven really the Ame no Murakumo no Tsurugi? Though it does look a tad to western...

Some people could, by alternative, just call it Kusanagi, since that's the other known name of the legendary blade.
More like, it's a name, and you don't translate names, you can translate what does the name mean and make a note out of it. But generally yeah, you're 100% right.
I bet tons that this manga was, mostly, translated with machine trans, google translator too stronk.
