| Description: | Aritake Deigo has decided to move out and go live on his own no matter the cost. The reason for this is that he can no longer stand living with his family anymore. All he wants is to find a place to live a miserly life of self-loathing. While talking to an apartment agent, he encounters a strange blue-haired girl carrying a snake statue. When he starts hearing a faint voice come from the statue, he grows curious and touches it. A blinding flash of light ensues and he loses consciousness. Upon waking up, he finds out that he has been possessed by Lyssa, the Goddess of Madness. As a result, if he doesn't live a life of happiness, he will be taken over by the Goddess of Madness and die! |

How evil. I absolutely love it.
(And I thought Onii-chan I Really Don't Like You or something like that had an evil ending.)
I haven't read it all, but I will say that my favorite girl is Sorako. (It's because she's slender, not because she's got blue hair) Athena is an idiot dog, but she has good intentions. Artemis...Is a gloomy girl, but she's a good kid too.
Hermes strikes me as a smiling troll. And Zeus is a vain idiot, from what I've seen. And Hera...well, what she is rhymes with 'witch.' And LYSSA, proper spelling there, is a nutcase. Then again, living like Deigo is a form of madness... especially with so many goddesses around.
And Athena is the goddess of wisdom, not an idiot who literally brute forces everything. Besides, as pointed out by another person, Hermes is a trickster and, as a any trickster would do, cheating a game of chance would be fun.
Fanfiction writers, mangaka, doujin writers, novelists and even directors can do whatever the hell they want with any mythological names/beings/canon that they want. As always: don't like, don't read.
If you read something you know you don't like, then you're either a masochist or an idiot of high caliber.
If you've read Homer's Hymn to Hermes (and many myths involving Hermes), you'd know that he's also a cunning trickster god. Euripides also described him as such. It is also thought by some to have originally been a snake god, which may or may not have something to do with that.
I'm not sure where the gambling part comes from, but he was definitely known as a god of commerce, so perhaps that in combination with his trickster aspect would be something akin to gambling? Eh.
In any case, it's common for Greek gods (or gods in general) to have many many aspects beyond what's known from the major myths and tales. Many gods will also have certain aspects particular to worship in certain areas (this is common in gods that were worshiped in the Roman Empire and Celtic lands).

Obviously this author doesn't know his Greek mythology Hermes is not the god of gambling and lies. He is protector and patron of travelers, herdsmen, thieves, orators and wit, literature and poets, athletics and sports, invention and trade.

please tell me that THAT wasn't the ending or that there is an after story because as it stands nothing much changed.
And now Deigo gets to live his happy ending with... eternal virgin goddesses.

Well honestly this is so brainless that it's inoffensive. I know it sounds like I'm being harsh but that's the best I could do without calling it formulaic. I do like Athena's design though.
