Really great work
This manga is great simply for it's execution. When the plot twist kicks in, rolls with the character reasoning or you'll be lost.
The ending wasn't bad, it's just that I had such high hopes for this manga. It could have been a really epic adventure, but it ended as soon as it started getting really interesting. Mumon has to be one of the baddest characters I've seen, I want more
Shinigami Mumon!
The thing that makes the ending shitty is the drastic change of pace in the last chapter, not the content. It just doesn't flow at all with all other chapters. It makes me think that this was made in a rush or even getting axed.
Tragic, but Mumon remains epic.
Biggest mistake of the author was to let Okuni die.
Then again, not every story has a vanilla ending.
I felt like Mumon failed to take revenge for Okuni which, I think to many readers, was a surprise.
Then again, if he wanted to become 'human' then taking revenge isn't really an option.
I would say one of the most realistic ends of manga i have ever seen. I may not like the ending, but i appreciate the intent of author and his message, especially Daizen's last words.
One of the best manga's i have been read untill now, equaly by story and art.
To KarbonKevin, i think the Bungo&bunch will not need bowls in the couple seconds of life they had left
One of the shittiest ending ever
They all went to Bed, Bath & Beyond to buy new bowls. DA END.
I liked this, but well, I'm a bit unsatisfied with the ending. It just feels somewhat... uncharacteristic - drastic changes in behavior over a supposedly emotional event that I just didn't buy. I wasn't expecting a happy ending, but the last 3 or so chapters were a bit too... hamfisted. Or maybe that's just me.
Can someone help me understand what Mumon did with Bungo and the others that appeared at the end?
I only see bowls getting thrown around
I...I can't believe it had to end like that.
Really good read but so sad.
Even though I didn't like the ending, it was a good read.
Surprisingly enough, every human life is worth exactly the same. The only reason you think she's worth more is because of emotional attachment. Killing an infinite number of the Iga wouldn't have sated Mumon's grief, however, so in that sense, she was worth more to HIM. Taking revenge would have made him feel better for a second or two, I guess, but hey, It's a tragedy, so there wasn't much we could expect. Good story, though. Thanks to all who contributed.
I think not. This manga really just ended.
This had so much potential, was it cancelled?
what the? didn't expect it to end at chapter 22. noooo goodbye shinobi no kuni
dude were you thinking straight when you post this because i think youre not even trying to understand each and every character in this manga try reading it again and this time with understanding
Is mumon going to rally people of Oda ?
Well, that escalated quickly.
So that's what the "Tragedy" tag for, I guess. orz
Dang it.
Is it just me or were some of those dart shooter ninjas children?
It seems like mumon doesnt really have anyone to be mad at except himself. He had killed countless people before this without even thinking about it and the other ninjas in the village were no different. "taking revenge" on them doesnt make any sense since they have no value for human life, not even their own. The council of tweleve are far more responsible then the actual murderers, but even they arnt really worth killing. unlike that girl their deaths will be meaningless. No one will mourn them no one will cry for them, no matter how many of them you had they would never be worth one okuni. Again im not saying he should kill them all, but I just find it pointless and more then a little bit hypocritical.
Mumon going back to save Iga was so pointless.
