While attending school, he boards at a creepy mansion, which even has a butler. Also living there is a strange young woman called Emiru. She is suffering from a terminal illness of the heart --- despair. This deep psychological problem has eerie physical effects as well: her hair has turned white, her body temperature is well below normal, and her blood pressure is also bizarre. No psychologists or counselors have been able to help cure her of this problem. Will Kazuma be able to determine the cause of Emiru's despair and save her before it's too late?

Well that was a nice ending. Not as deep into psych as I'd thought it would be, but I guess I feel a little better after reading this story (despite stories usually making me feel sad)

This is another proof that a manga doesn't need to be hundreds of chapters long to be called a masterpiece.

Pretty enjoyable, a little short maybe nevertheless good as it is.

God, my head hurt, i need 3 day to complete a short manga, reading and tab to translator every pages ~.~ But i love it, very good art and story.

That was crazy !

One of my favourite manga , i cried like a little kid when i finished it , a masterpiece .

Oh man.. This was too heavy..

EDIT: And the ending left a bad taste as well. Well, there's simply no way it would've been a happy ending manga, but still...

well in one way you could call it good ending though i mean

Hnggggg It was sooo good. But really deep I enjoyed the story.

So heavy.. was really worth it though

Wow, that was heavy. I'm not really anything like Emiru, I'm "merely" bipolar, but this certainly hit close to home. With bipolar there isn't a drastic change in the sense of self, but your behavior, and what other people see as your personality, can shift drastically and unpredictably. It really sucks. Especially in relationships, where, if the other party became close to me during one episode they will be alienated and hurt when I swing back the other way. So, really close to home. Despite of, and because of, all that I really liked this. Well done (and tactful, I might add) stories like this are hard to find. I fell like the horror tag is a bit harsh, though...

Actually, everyone has their own multiple personality. The you in the internet, I REALLY don't think it's the same person to you in your real life. admit it.

Maybe it's ego not personality. Multi personality is you not knowing the other you. But yeah I agree with you. We may be more sociable on the net than irl.

@natureboy I can't speak about any experiences regarding "loving" women with such disorders but any college graduate who took psych could tell you that that treatment is extremely finicky and difficult. It's hard enough just to get one to dominate, let alone integrate. Let's not try to turn a manga into reality.

The last chapter was really quite harsh on my heart.

Spoiler

Please read after the last chapter, not before.

good story, but I'm not going to read it again I wish it ended a little bit differently

The feels... I can honestly say that I enjoyed it right from the beginning but I didn't feel REALLY involved until the last chapter. Even though I knew what was happening and what was going to happen... I couldn't help but feel my heart drop a little and Kazuma is such a champ as well as Emiru!

Exactly! The last chapter attacks with force.

Oh damn. What a heart breaking story. It didn't leave that wound on your heart till the very end, such an intensely sad story. The pleasant numbness of the tragedy genre.

This takes less than 2 hours to read. Do yourself a favor, pour yourself a drink, fire up the itunes and enjoy the trip.

I'm touched so much...

Amazing story, got me crying but in a good way i think. Not hard XD

anyway READ IT

Thanks so much to Hidoi team !

After reading all the scary comments here I hardened my heart and finally finished reading it.

If you want a happy-go-lucky story which has just a bit of sadness, check out Mahoraba

If you want an ecchi/action one, check out Change 123

Spoiler

BTW good manga, i enjoyed it.

i may not know enough about japanese culture, but is the name "emiru" usually reserved to psychologically frail but sex easy girls?
