...or so Munemune said. Although (and probably because) the smash scored, Agari managed to intimidate Kumami. Added with Agari's newfound technique to spin the ball more, I'd say she can overtake Kumami without constant use of 100% Agari Smash.

It's all well and good that she's unleashed her smashes and gotten better overall, but the loop drive is supposed to be her thing. If she wins without it (and not in a convincing way that proves she doesn't need it,) it'll just be kind of lame.

I don't think it'll happen though. That final smash is an integral component of the process, and Agari's smashes, whether forehand or back, just aren't strong enough at this point to break through Kumami's guard. You never know though. She's been playing Koyori for ages, and I'm sure she's thought of something to make her technique work against her.

The Hanko panties are an alarming red flag, (and thank god it wasn't a dick like I feared.) My paranoia suspects it's possible the mangaka is setting up a silly device to serve as a driving force for a rivalry between Koyori and Kohime. bro its giving us perspective and character development... think about how awkward it would be to have them have all the developments DURING the games in these official tournaments xD it would be so unrealistic (lets be honest they already talk to eachother WAY more than they honestly would be doing in a tournament)

I think you should prepare your anus. I really doubt the author would just have Koyori sit this match out. Also, Agari did win her last game by utilising her newfound strength, so I disagree that losing to Kumami would be shitting all over her character development.

What the hell are you talking about? The mangaka skipped out on every single match besides Koyori vs Kururi in the Mozuyama matches. It's pretty clear they're fine with letting characters sit on the sidelines in favor of others. That said, outside of her match with Zakuro which was over in exactly 2 montage panels, Agari hasn't played against an official opponent since she lost to Koyori. This match is supposed to be the culmination of her personal growth and skills put to the test in a serious match, given serious screen-time. That's why the forehand smashes are a big deal.

Not only will we be retreading water if she loses in terms of Agari's character development, but Kumami will have established herself as Agari's arch-nemesis, especially with Kumami's newly established backstory. That kind of cheapens Agari and Koyori's dynamic in my eyes, just a bit.

I am going to be absolutely derriere destroyed if Agari loses this match. Not only is she best girl, but she's worked so hard for years to apparently catch up to Kumami. After losing her way and being satisfied with the plateau she was on, only to lose to Koyori and having it firmly established that she can't rest on her laurels if she wants to be #1, a loss here would just be retreating old ground and shitting all over her character development so far. She needs to win, even if it prevents Koyori from getting some time in the sun for this arc.
