@defry, you might want to watch it again because you obviously missed some things. As for that part at the end there were quite a few reasons Hibiki had to do that, some of which were said and others you could figure out if you thought about what they did.
It seems season 2 of the anime will apparently shed some light on what happened to Hibiki after the Kanade incident, so that will also explain why she acts the way she does.
I liked the anime at the start, especially the personality of the characters and their emotional issues, flaws but the biggest flaw is how ridiculous the plot is.
I watched the anime and I don't know how the manga is, plus I don't think this a spoiler. So, I'll come out and say my opinion of this.
After watching the anime, it's one of those crap where everything is forgiven without reason... stuff happened between the relationships of the characters and they didn't give a plausible reason for such ending between them.
There are plenty of mangas, animes that I watched and all it did was increase my pent up anger and stress. I mean, we watch stuff to entertain, relax ourselves.. release some of the stress. Not build zerger rage while watching crap.
Anyways... I warned you about the anime... I don't have a clue about manga but it's from the same author, no? Then it's likely to produce the same crap. I am staying away from this.
So this one is getting events different from the anime...

damn ... the enjoyment for manga is halfed because no music, BGM and song ...
gotta re-watch the anime after reading this ...
if there's a way to bind music with picture like anime for manga ...
