If you think the 1st game (and the 2nd, even more) is a bit too happy-go-lucky, then "maybe" you'd like the 3rd better, as it'll be a bit more believable. Instead of a cast of mostly newbies like the 1st (heck, the 2nd game's cast looked like highschoolers playing war-games), the 3rd's is mostly made up of regular soldiers and veterans, etc. Oh God, I hope there IS a manga of the 3rd game
I'm not sure about the game, but the anime, which was based on it was shit. I still remember this tank(I bet even Gundam would lose to it) and all those happy go lucky newbies, who constantly beat the outnumbering regular army.
