A young man named Nikola, whose parents were cruelly murdered by a witch before his eyes, discovers that he is now the key to winning the war. Using sorcery skills acquired through years of careful study, Nikola must revive twelve witches known as the “First Witches” who will become his allies and weapons to defeat the enemy. But there is one small hitch: in order to revive the witches from their eternal slumber, Nikola must form a marriage contract with each one. Just how many witches can Nikola marry in order to save the world?

I have several American manga publishing connections and it's worth noting that scanlation is the single biggest drag on American manga sales, and it's also the reason that getting a license for many series can be difficult. Japanese publishers are simply scared of the size of American piracy communities, and for good reason. I realize that cost, convenience, and laziness--and a general disregard for quality, in many cases--steer one away from purchasing manga, but fuck that. Pastimes and hobbies cost money. Entertainment does too, of course.

I would totally buy Manga and LNs if they actually did a decent job on official translations. The official No Game No Life translation was total garbage and the official manga translation of Negima! literally cut some panels out from the original. Having a legal monopoly doesn't give companies the right to shit all over the work and the consumer. Also when a publisher licences a series, sends out C&Ds, and then doesn't touch it for years (Hidan no Aria LN) people should refuse to buy the legal version just out of spite. If they can put out a timely, quality version, fine; but if not then they should leave it to those who actually care about the quality.

I could say the same about Crunchyroll they don't bother to translate text in the background when people who do it for free out of love for the work do (Dragon Maid compare to Dame Desu Yo's version). Paid quality should never be worse than fan quality.

"Nikola must form a marriage contract with each one."

We all know what's next after marriage. :iykwim:

Netflix, Steam, Spotify, Patreon, Line webtoons and many others, proved these kind of arguments are utterly wrong. If publishers want to mantain a feudal business model it's their problem. It's the 21th century ffs. You either evolve or get replaced by modern distribution platforms.

While it's not completely wrong, because there are those kind of people, but I agreed, evolve and survive or lay down and wait for their death.

Meh. Very generic. And why the historical tag?

Thanks for the chapter. Love this manga. Keep up the good job ^.^ !

If you want to continue this but still want to support the author, then here are a few suggestion.

1. Make announcement about the series is being licensed, as well as the link to where to purchase the book (there will be people willing to purchase the book) (Put the link in the release, don't make a direct link from your website, this should decrease the chance of the publisher having their eyes on you)

2. Host only 2-3 of the most recent chapters of the series. This means, you won't have DL link for older chapters, but only the most recent chapters.

3. Make a statement along the line "We wish for the industry to grown, therefore we only host some of the latest chapters as respect to the author and publisher, these chapters are meant to rise wareness and possibly bring new readers to the series" etc, you get the deal~)

This is going to be an unpopular opinion.

1. Sound advice, though the best way to keep a publisher's eye off you is to cease and desist.

2. (shrug) okay. See below.
3. This doesn't help anyone legally. Being a drag on someone's revenue is neither a show of support nor respect (see "keeping a publisher's eye off you"), and neither judge nor lawyer will be sympathetic to this sentiment. Generally speaking, it's safest simply to translate works that have no English translation or else have been dropped (e.g. things that Tokyopop used to do and weren't picked back up by another publisher). Wanna know what brings new readers to a series by design? Chapter one.

Edit:

Spoiler

wow! thanks for the new chapter

what foreigner is translating this?

Thanks for your advice! Looks like this is how mangastream is working on One Piece, Naruto and such. We will think about this carefully before we decide to drop or continue. Again, thank you!

Sup guys I'm Cruz, editor of this series. We just found out that this series had been licensed after we released chapter 1 lol. That's why we will probably drop it. That's sad cause we really like this manga. Anyway I still ask you guys if we should drop it? We don't wanna get involved in licensed stuff and we do want the author to get some fair amount of income. However, there are other series out there still be scanlated after they are licensed. So do you have any suggestion, like, how to get it scanlated without violating the licensed matter? Please upvote and give us some advice, thanks!

You make a fair argument good sir
I guess she likes them salty?

Wait.... this has a VERY familiar plot line... at least 2 mangas use the idea that I can think of offhand.

name 3.

I think seeing him cry constantly will get old very quickly.  =/

You can grab volume 1 in the US right now. I think it's being released by Seven Sea's.

The translation is quite awkward... hopefully the scanslators improve it  (or some other team does an alternate release).

This seems like an interesting one.

Moyashimon mangaka did draw a story of a witch inflicted by the christian god with virginity punishment.

Good: Sexy witches / Bad: Seeing the little shit crying every damn chapter

Witchcraft works, but in "Ye Olde"

This one should be in description

Also... "Virginity Punishment?" Whut? I hope that doesn't mean that even if she is revived and is married she has to stay a virgin.

I assume(hope) it means she is/was forced to stay a virgin.. cos y'know sex is fun. No fun for bad witch. Naughty witch, needs a good spanking..

Let's give it an opportunity.

Need to study witchcraft.
