I'm really thinking she got pregnant by someone else and she and/or her friends set up the MC. Her friends didn't know she couldn't handle alcohol? They let her go home passed out with a stranger but are somehow just now super protective of her?
I know this was made a while back but were there no ways to check to see if she was actually pregnant? I mean she didn't have her period and she has been throwing up but that could just be a false positive.

He is trying--it's just every time he starts to say "I'll take responsibility", someone hits him or tells him to shut up or says "That's nice kid but you're useless so forget it".
