After some searching, I finally refound it. It's called "Dakara Ore ni Shina yo". Bonus points for the genuinely nice guy getting shafted in the end!

Wow...that girl's an idiot. First, for confessing love to a guy she clearly doesn't even really know, and second for sticking around. It'd be one thing if she initially found him to be a jerk, then got to know him, and then fell in love with him, but as it is, she just seems like the typical shallow shoujo girl who "falls in love at first sight." So what if he has a gentle smile? For all you know he practices it at home just to fool people! (Although I don't think he does, lol.)

As for the guy, despite him being a jerk, I actually like him better than her! He told her up front that he's basically going to hurt her (emotionally), and asked if she'd still keep on. Seriously, girl, you should've taken his advice...but then again, I guess there'd be no story that way. I guess this story's more for people who like emotional S&M.

A break from indecisive punching bags of male leads. He is NOT the worst possible person. I can think of worse people for the girl. Will follow just to desaturate myself of sorry excuses for male MCs.
