Because he tries to understand people. All the other guys came to Utaha and confessed to her just based on her outer appearances. They probably didn't even know she was a writer. Morals was a fan who tried to understand the meaning behind her works and didn't care about looks but went to try to understand her heart first and foremost. They showed that well during the handshaking event when in the line of guys who went to shake her hand, he was the one who came with pure innocent eyes and really shook her hand just as a fan of her works. Not because she's a pretty girl who sells books, because that's the point of those events. "See how attractive this writer is kind of thing."

Whenever he approaches her it's either to start a dialogue or make progress on some project while showing passion for it.

For the other girls, they like him, because he understands the otaku world they live in, while still being socially competent and true to his passions. Other people are scared of being otaku but he's proud enough to show an anime movie in a screening if he's given the ability to screen a movie to the student body because the story touched him. 

Megumi likes him because of his unabashed passion. She's passive and doesn't really know what she's doing with her life but he drags her around into his world and shows her new experiences.

The cousin likes him because he's also fun to talk to. She has completely different interests than him and yet they still hold fun conversations about literally anything. That and he's legit willing to try out any subculture like she is when it came to music and shit.

So yeah. To me it makes sense that he's liked by these girls.

I see... It's totally plausible, explainable and credible.
