Description:	Oneshot. From Aerandria Scans: Lance is a devil punished to guard the gates of Heaven and Hell and to lie to souls to get them into Hell. He can never tell the truth because to do so would mean he will disappear. He has to send one more soul to Hell before he can finally be free from his punishment. For a devil, lying is easy, right? But what happens when the soul of the person he cherishes walks up to the Gates for judgement?

Hm, this was confusing with why he can go to the human world.

The idea sounded interesting, just thought the way it was presented and resolved wasn't what I was expecting.

To me this feels very sloppily collaged together and would be better as a short story.

I'm not sure I understood the question at the gates.

I know that one, the angel, is always supposed to tell the truth and the other, the devil, is always supposed to lie. One gate leads to hell and the other leads to heaven. They're allowed two questions though? If that's so, the "riddle" is easy to solve. The first question, to determine if the one you're speaking with is the devil or the angel, is to ask him/her to confirm something. Like, "Do I have two legs?" The angel will say yes while the devil will say no. After that, the next question is easy, "Which gate leads to heaven?" The devil will lie and direct you to hell and the angel will direct you to heaven, however, since you know which is which, your choice of gate should be obvious.

The riddle would have been more difficult if they were only allowed one question, a question that would determine which was the gate to heaven regardless of who you asked. I already know the answer, considering I've been asked this before. Check the spoiler if you're stumped.

The question you must ask is this: "If I asked the other person which was the gate to heaven, what would he answer?" The gate the person picks will always be hell. The reason?

Well, if you ask the angel who always tells the truth he will think of the answer like this "The devil will tell you that the gate to heaven is actually the gate to hell" and he'll point towards the gate to hell.

And if you ask the devil who always lies, he will think of the answer like this "The angel will not lie and tell him which is the correct gate to heaven, but since I am a liar I will point him towards the gate to hell."

So there you have it, they'll both point to hell so all you need to do is pick the other gate. Regardless of who you ask, angel or devil, all you have to do is pick the other gate.

I suppose it was just for plot though.

As for the story, I loved it. It was sweet as hell(kekeke, pun).

No, it's only one question. They just didn't say you couldn't ask a question about how they would answer a question. If there's no such rule, that "two-fold" question is valid.

Why are the oneshots getting so good I don't know how many good ones I have read this last few days but this was great

I know what you mean, i've expend more time reading good oneshots than get some decent reading on some mangas i stumble on...

This one is one of my favorites now, really lovely.

Alright, this manga was just too adorable. I wish it could have been something more than just a oneshot, kinda makes me sad. But, I still loved it anyway.

This was really great, amazingly cute.
Although the setup definition of how people get into heaven or hell is horrifically arbitrary. I mean, at that rate if Pol Pot knew that basic little logic puzzle, he'd get into heaven. Really, what the? But once you let that go, the rest is lovely.

Why are the oneshots getting so good I don't know how many good ones I have read this last few days but this was great it reminded me a bit of "Before the Law", not really.
