This manga started it all for me. 10 years and 320 titles (and counting) later, it's still my favorite.

One thing, how is Tsukune paying for all the shirts? Almost every chapter they get sliced, burnt, covered in blood etc. I mean, he must spend hundreds of £s (i'm british) on them, considering the prices of things nowdays.

He stole the boys' clothes during PE, lol. Heck, who knows, probably the mangaka himself didn't think about it.

I think, and this is just my guess, but the Ririsu Mirror?  The one that shows the true form of the Youkai and reveals them for all to see?

 

...I think that was the author trying to say "Release Mirror."  I'll feel even more sure of this if it turns out that in the raws it was spelled out with Katakana instead of Hiragana.  If I'm wrong I apologize for it, but I just have this hunch.

considering the name of the spirit is also ririsu its probably lilith mirror. release would be riri-su

One of my faves if your reading this I recommend it highly.

Gotta say, the oneshot's art seems better than the first chapter. The author obviously got told to make it 'cuter' or something by the publisher. Thankfully by the second season that policy got changed.

Wow. The oneshot's setting is nice - fundamentally different from the series.

It would be kind of interesting to know why the mangaka changed the setting in such a drastic way - for better or worse(?).

Huh. Looks like the fake personality created by the rosary thing was part of her character concept from the very beginning. That's interesting.

It's actually quite an interesting shift to move it from average nobody meets vampire girl in normal high school to average nobody is accepted to monster academy and meets vampire girl.

In the oneshot, she's the odd one one out; in the series, HE is the odd-one out. He's not just an average mceverydude anymore, he's the average mceverydude who somehow got accepted to the monster academy, and thus by DEFINITION, is by no means average (his luck, at least, is crazy).

Add that to the fact that he's a hero character who's gotten more powerful by training over the series, while everyone else is powerful mostly by birth, and he's actually quite an interesting character as of the Second Season.

@dustiler If you mean it changed from the oneshot where it is now, in the second season, then yeah. But if you comparre it to the first chapter of first season, it didn't change that much, just the setting and design of "raging vampire" moka.

Art really changed from one shot to now.... so is the progress of evolution.

re-read it for the 3rd time now. still a good read.

Well I've been wanting to read this for a while now. Now that I have I have I realize the anime doesn't even come close to the level of the manga. Very good read overall.
