Chapter 16 page 30 .... I just realised after rereading but is that foreshadowing?

I begun to read this manga years ago but I just discovered the end, Holly S**** !
Well, I don't now why but I saw the whole "family thing" (let's call it this way (so no spoilers) ^^) since a while. When you add hair, secrets and everything, it makes a perfect sense, but I didn't thought he would... Oh damnit it's sad ! T.T But also beautiful so... People who likes happy ending, don't be afraid of what I just said !

In the end, it was a good serie, even if politic is just too simple... [SPOILER]
I try to kill my cousin to blackmail the king ? Hourra ! I killed my father, take the kingdom and switch of wife (again) ? No problem ! So, since my wife's bodyguard took the power and made an ajin country, every ajin just go away and every human leave his life to come here ! And they do it without even protesting ? I apologize to find it a bit too easy... But good manga however ! Good characters and flowing story

I agree that it was a pretty good read. Sometimes I had to close my eyes for a few seconds to return to reading. Even if Nakaba's horribly thin waist was hurting my sight, I mostly enjoyed the art.

Loki is one of those pitiful characters, about whom you have unsettled feelings in the end. He seems exaggerated to me. You can never know what's inside of his head.

I finished reading it and I admit it was a pretty good ending. Does the manga has flaws? Yeah, certanly. The political aspect is just laughable. Does it make it a bad one? Well, I don't think so. While I do think some things could have been done much better and not so rushed, I think it had its good points and attained what it wanted. An enjoyable read, with likeable characters, interesting plot and a good ending, just do not expect perfection.

While I just knew that Loki would die - someone just can't be THAT unhappy and tragic, with no perspective of happiness, and stay alive, not to say in a manga where deaths are not unusual, it still broke my heart. I wished for an OT3 (yes, before and even after knowing they were siblings), but saying the improbability of that, I knew that was the only way for him.

As for the things he did, it was necessary. As Lunari said, how it happened was pretty ridiculous. I remember laughing at it, with Loki smiling so carefree like "hey, give me some cookies pls" instead of a country, idk, an then just jumping out of the window like "yup, thats it, my country now, boo you". Anyway, lets just ignore it, just like how all other politics were made. Since the following events were told by Nakaba instead of shown, I prefer to believe there was a transition, people explainng things and whasoever.

I believe the reason behind his actions was, like he said, that laws can't change everything. They were in a reality after-wars, where they were made to believe ajins were inferior, dirty. A country of ajins-only and humans-only made it possible to mingle people that were once enemies into one, aiming to surpass that old animosity. Not only that, but also to allow ajins to construct their sense of citizenship, of selfconfidence, to learn how to love themselves. With that, the ajins would also be seen in a new light by the humans, as they have their country to protect them and the humans couldn't do as they pleased anymore. Of course this is not something imediate, but more happening in the mentality of peole, thats why it took some years, but I think it was necessary so the countries could be unified at least and to allow they live truly equally. Problems would arise anyway, certanly, but it allowed to minimize the proportion, IMO.

When it was said that Loki died of overusing the Arcana, I couldn't help but wonder if he overused it in the hope to see Nakaba once again, in the flow of time... Or maybe just visiting her time frames, like in his death, as he knew the moment to say what she needed to hear. It broke my heart even more... God, Loki is so pitiful I don't even have the words to describe it.

Anyway, the job done in the background of other characters was pretty decent, if I may say so? While I absolutely hated Lithuanel First Prince (forgot his name), I just loved his pairing with the snake ajin. This page made me so angry and sad! Such a scumbag, I wished Nakaba declared war on them just to kill this asshole. The same can be said about Caeser's father and Sarah. I wished it could have been told the story of Nabaka's parents. It was, indeed, a letdown. And maybe the pairing with Limelia? I believe there is a love triangle with she, Akhil and Adel. Speaking of Akhil, it may be the mind of a fujoshi, but the fight between his older brothers seemed more like to fight for him than the throne (haha sorry, can't help it). Oh, yeah, Leo and the bunny girl suddenly disappeared. I guess that's it, basically.

I stoped reading the new chapters for quite some time and now after reading some of those comments I am reluctant to do it now.

So is there no happy end? I'm a sucker for happy endings so I don't want too much tragedy. -.-

I'd say the ending is more bittersweet, but more sweet than bitter.

From my perspective, Adel should have not been allowed to live. He may become a hindrance in the near future. It may sound cruel to say this, but even fools can bring down a kingdom if scorned.

As for Gran, I believe he’s just venting his frustration for not being able to save Sara on the Arcana users. He couldn't save her and it was easier to blame someone else for it. If the Arcana users didn't exist blaming god would be first on the list. You can't help but feel sad, frustrated and angry when someone dear to you dies.

Do I believe that his actions could be justified? No. Do I sympathize with him? In a way. Before he became the tyrannical king that 'we' all hate now, he was once a man capable of love... That’s my take on this anyway.

Finally though in this entire freaking story I have to say... WHAT THE HELL WAS WRONG WITH ALL THESE GODDAMN FAMILIES?!?! I mean seriously with the exception of the dead prince and his living brother why is it that every last sibling had complete animosity towards each other even if it wasn't always the sole emotional drive. I think we need to ask the Author if they have some sibling issues that they need to discuss with a therapist because my god this was insane. I get that royalty can be vicious sometimes but, not every Royal family was a damn "Game of Thrones" set up as this manga makes them out to be.

I am surprised that Nakaba's assassination/coercion plan didn't have any consequences... especially since her ex-fiance was super pissed abut it.

It has to do with the level of fear she threw into them. She already proved that she was willing to stake her life to take the throne. If they didn't have that kind of determination they knew they would lose. She basically used the high pressure method in order to leave them with a mental scar. Plus adding on top of it she also was able to make the other party realize that he had no real ambitions for being a king. That he lacked the quality to be one. Hard to get over that hump without ambition.

Hahaha I love how the author completely kills everyone else's OTP in the latest chapter! But really when you think about everything that Loki went through in the castle it's really sad when you think about it. And it's kinda makes sense that he can control Senan, well just a little.

I don't... understand. Maybe my brain had given up on me. Maybe it's still restarting after that BSoD. Or maybe I need to re-read. But... He's just "okay, give me senan! :D" Everyone: "..." Him: "so, now that everyone agree, it's mine, okay? Finders are keepers. Bubye o/ " *jumps out of the window* ... and that's it? Ơ_Ơ That's supposed to work?!?! So he's going to get to senan and say "hi there, the queen told you humans to SCRAM." ? Or maybe "I'm the new king. Ajins, party! Humans, get the hell out of here." ? Or "so, me and the queen had a game, and..." Now, really, how is this going to work? I don't remember the chapter before but, no matter what she's still the queen. They'd have to have a written deal, a public acknowledgement or something. He just doesn't barge in and take over just like that.

Senan's army is made up of mostly Ajins, the royal family and nobles have been ousted by her and Loki. So if he has the loyalty of the Ajins he most certainly can just go back and say you humans need to leave.
