The only problem is that the author "sells" the works with boobs and a background story that seems like it'd be a good comicThe standard main character everyone compares Reiji (Reiji is a main character, not the main character) to is the "hero of justice": someone like Onizuka from GTO who has a set of beliefs and enforces them superhuman powers. Reiji isn't superhuman, he is human.

Humans are mostly weak. Physically, mentally, morally, emotionally, etc. The background characters in this book are human; they thought murder was wrong, but if its murder or die, they choose murder. They were morally weak; they chose life over morality (their belief of it). Reiji is not as morally weak; he would not dirty his own hands ie. take a life to protect himself. If he had been alone, and allowed to die, he could have been a martyr. This, you could say, is the good in Reiji.

Reiji is obviously not some sort of saint, however; he has a lot of bad in him. He wasn't morally righteous enough to go out of his way to prevent his life from being saved by immoral acts, he ignored immoral acts, and he uses others as shields so that he can think he's a better person. His way of thinking is "I couldn't stop them, they did it not me, and if it happens again I still can't stop them." The fact that he was privileged by fate (author almighty) to live thinking that, and that he never truly had to face the "Live, die, or renegade on your morals" question, could be frustrating and annoying to a reader.

Not to mention, people prefer straightforwardness more than morality; someone who is living what they say (ie "Have to kill to survive") is more admirable than the "I ignore reality and survive." But as all of the background characters already did (they had their own variations ie the two best friends), you could say Reiji was being saved for a different question, involving his sister.

Several parts of the storyline are brought together to make Reiji finally face the situation he is in; because he finds out Ayako is a psychopath (more lacking in care for others than in the twisted and evil meanings that word can imply), he has to accept the fact that what she is and what she does are the polar opposite of the morals he holds so highly. Furthermore, the existence of the childhood friend (replacement companion) and the company (replacement protection) allow Reiji to "rule" on his sisters' actions in regards to himself.Since the company tells Reiji that he wouldn't be doing Ayako any favors by supporting her actions, Reiji can again has an easier choice. He can choose morals over emotional sentiment by thinking "it's for her sake." Obviously, Reiji is weak-willed and chooses the easiest option available to him while clinging to being "personally moral."

After the company has Ayako, they withdraw their assurances and Reiji is finally, truly put to test about his morals, with the princess (something like a higher power) confronting him with how unnatural his morals are, and do only people who follow his unnatural morals have the right to exist?

The characters are accurate types of people:
Ayako is powerful, strong-willed, and without justice. People with her power were responsible for keeping people alive so that the race continued to exist, and because people less suited to survival were allowed to survive, they could focus their time and energies on evolving the race. She's the alpha.

Company guy is the evolution of the protector in a time when the quantity of people who weren't powerful collectively had enough force to protect themselves, but still needed to have structure so that they could do so. He is representative of kings, pharaohs, generals. Partially as a bid for power, he believes alphas are still needed, albeit working differently, to keep people protected from other powerful people, as people are weak-minded and can easily fall into mob/every-man-for-himself mentalities.

The people that make up the company are average people. They aren't individually powerful, and they like being ruled by someone who keeps them relatively safe from the world and from the whims of other powerful people.

Original Reiji is weak and weak-willed, but highly moral. He believes that the world should work perfectly, following moral rules without needing to be coerced or to have the threat of punishment. He is very sheltered.

Reiji version two realizes that it people cant individually be moral without being protected via society from stronger people with less moral conviction. It seems he wants to try to change the way people work so that a society can exist without a ruler.

Final Reiji is now powerful, and he's obviously lost his no-killing rule. Final company guy has successful created a peaceful society, but people lose some of their freedoms to be a part of it (modern day society). Final Reiji intends to stop the hypocritical society where people feel free at the cost of loss of freedoms, but what does he intend to do with people?

Reiji, Company Guy, Ayako.... What kind of power is best? Can Reiji's ideals be a successful society, should we setter for Company Guy's society (sort of like Brave New World), or do we go off of human nature, taking what we can get?

Regardless of whether or not you enjoyed the read, I just want to convey that rather than being a bad comic, it is perhaps an odd take on the genre. Like a classic literature book meant to convey ideas more than a story.

Can't read the sequel: cause: No reiji in first 3 chapters. And new MC is sooo weak
