There's nothing wrong with having a tag for het stories specifically, it's just a matter of calling it what it is. And straight people don't get a monopoly over "normal".
would you want your coffee at, like, 26.7 degrees Celcius? That's lukewarm, bro
oor it's so that when you search by tag, you know what you'll get. Not everyone wants yaoi or yuri so by defining the tag like that, it ensures that when you look for "Romance", you get hetero romance search results, if you look for "Yaoi", you get malexmale and if you look for "Yuri" you get femalexfemale. I don't think it's a matter of beliefs, just a way to make things a bit more user-friendly, especially since there is no specific term for hetero romance.
80 degrees Celsius... must be hot. like hellish hot. Maybe Fahrenheit?
The thing I am annoyed by at is why this tag was even defined like this by batoto, it's a pretty biased definition for romance. It is a form of veiled homophobia that allows people like this to abandon common sense and decency and have a bit of respect for other people.
He's actually right though, at least about Batoto's definition of the Romance tag. If you go to the Advanced Comic Search and mouse over the Romance tag it provides a description; that description is "Any love related story. We will define love as between a man and a woman in this case. Other than that, it is up to your own imagination of what love is."
I don't necessarily agree with him on anything else, or particularly agree with defining the Romance tag like that, but by Batoto's definition it is not an appropriate tag to put on this comic on Batoto.
Romance means a love story. You are looking at a vague and quite frankly bad definition and ignoring your common sense here. You're saying that this manga doesn't involve romance? Instead of querying batoto to remove bias against the tag romance you're here to ask it to be removed on the grounds it makes your searching more difficult? just put an "x" over the categories you don't want to come across. Save your veiled homophobic tendencies for yourself.
Unless there's straight love in this Manga (which I obviously don't want to check myselves)
please remove the Romance tag. Romance is by Batoto-definition for straight couples only; the gay equivalent is Shounen Ai. If you can't abide the rules for that, please refrain yourselves from tagging it with anything you didn't double-check Batotos genre-defintion of.
The reason is obvious: it makes searching more complicated for everyone.
If you want manga that contain "Romance", you have to define that (although Romance is meant to include straight love only) the search doesn't include Shoujo Ai/Yuri/Shounen Ai/Yaoi
every time you want to search for a new Romance Manga just because some people are too ignorant or stupid.
And in the rare case you want to search for something like "Haru yo,koi" (a manga that contains Shoujo Ai/Yuri and straight Romance) most of your "hits" will be just Shoujo Ai/Yuri.
So,please stay reasonable and abide the rules, at least for tagging...
