This make absolutely no sense.

If he wanted to protect her at all cost, he would stay near her, not ditch her away when she can die off-screen easily.

Especially when you look at his original personnality, before he was OP.

Oh well, let's see where it go now.

dumbass, shes gonna stay where its safe rather then go fight a dragon king who would kill her by accident hes strong but not strong enough to protect her from one of the kings

I mean, we have dragon zombies, so I guess it was the logical next step.

Hopefully there aren't any Lich varieties.

It's called a Dracolich and they do exist.

Literally chapter 1 starts with a fucking deus ex machina

Sorry to pile on what other posters have already said, but this isn't what deus ex machina means. Deus ex machina is a plot device used to resolve a seemingly unsolvable plot problem by suddenly introducing a new element.

It doesn't mean "anything that solves a problem in a story."

The author hasn't even set up the central problem of the plot yet; how could he resolve it with a sudden new element? That's like saying Back to the Future starts with deus ex machina because Doc Brown has invented a time machine.

Very often, you have the central plot element solve a problem for the protagonist in order to set up the premise and show how useful it is, only to immediately plunge them into greater conflict. The time machine from Back to the Future starts by allowing Marty to escape the Libyan nationalists, but it immediately leads to a new problem: he's trapped in the past. In Disney's Aladdin, the genie allows Aladdin to escape the Cave of Wonders, where he would have otherwise died. But Jafar is still after the genie, and Aladdin still doesn't know how to win Jasmine's heart.

This isn't deus ex machina, they're just normal, everyday plot elements. They were set up as part of the premise, or explained before they showed up, and then they functioned to move the plot forward. This is exactly where we are with Ragna Crimson: this chapter was setup for the real plot, which has now begun.

Not everything that helps the protagonist is deus ex machina. In the case of this manga, without spoilers, I will say that A.) the element that helps the protagonist is set up well in advance and does not come out of nowhere, and B.) the introduction of this element serves to create a scenario for the protagonist that has more potential for conflict and growth, not less.

I think you may have meant "Literally chapter 1 starts with a fucking contrived premise."

Is the Dragon God Big Mom or something? Destroying a nation for denying sweets is kind of her thing.

And the raws look pretty intense
