The manga is about basketball, but veers off to dark waters which explodes literally like a nuclear bomb.
I understand twisted people exist irl, do crazy shit, sometimes not completely their fault.
Killings happen, the real world is full of all kinds of people.
BUT.
Muse it be in this type of manga? If you are going to introduce such a dark issue, don't half ass it and make everything ok the next chapter. Explore it and don't just say "it's all ok magically"
Also so many forced misunderstandings and stupid behavior. I understand we all get flustered and say/do stupid crappy things when we're pushed into a tough situation, but every chapter ever page is SO tiring.
Goddamnit, the few funny moments and heart of this story isn't enough to cover all the over exaggerated and unrealistic crap.
Maybe it's common for its era to be this overdone, but not the type of manga to read for a cute and fun romance with sports as as theme.
I would avoid if I were you.
I recently found vol.1 in the back of my bookshelf while re-organising.
it really brought back memories. back when you really had to hunt to find stuff like that, back when I didn't even know you could read it online.

it was scanlated like 9 years ago but before even that it was one of the first manga to show up in bookstores and public libraries alongside ranma 1/2 and inuyasha
