Never really played much beyond the first 251, I tried a couple of times with a few of the latter but I just didn't find them very interesting. on the other hand I found a bunch of generation 2 hacks that were thrilling, for example pokemon dark energy (sort of final fantasy imagined in pokemon not quite complete yet) or crystal ultimate end (big difficulty upgrade and remap)
I remember, once upon a time, many eons ago, when I used my allowance to buy a gameshark just to get a Mew. And t And then one of my many mews got the unfortunate role of being the HM lackey. Flying on a psychic cat is the the most awesome thing, by the way. Even if it looks like a bird while you're doing it and looks like a khengiskan otherwise (Aaah, the limited sprite space back in Blue version...)
Yeah, mew was my favorite Pokemon. Kind of still is, really. Nothing beats nostalgia (and a mythic rare rule-breaking but adorable psychic cat-thing is pretty cool from the get-go).

There are 721 Pokemon now, and it'll increase soon with Sun and Moon. I feel old now. I haven't really played Pokemon after Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, though.
Also, I may be wrong, but I think that mew just used solar beam against a lvl 3 Wurmple. Now, that's what I call overkill.
