Don't they? Of course you have to factor in buoyancy of body mass and hydrodynamic resistance of body shape, but pretty much every swimming champion I know fits your description.

ok from what I can imagine short powerful legs reduce total body length and thus hydrodynamic drag but maximise leverage and power output with big feet acting as better rear flippers
a powerful upper body with large shoulders, wide arms and big hands
basically someone built like Michael Phelps

Don't they? Of course you have to factor in buoyancy of body mass and hydrodynamic resistance of body shape, but pretty much every swimming champion I know fits your description.

Hate to break it to her, but power in swimming is generated mainly by arms not legs. Unless she's using fins, or doing breaststroke.

Looks like this whole manga will be a cute & sweet but sarcastic jokes about girls trying to lose weight..

I guess I'll read this with mixed feelings..

... It could be worse, the mangaka could try to go realistic and make it so she had to deal with diabetes. Now that would be bad!
