Two people that are made for each other. What a comforting fantasy. Even though the art is not that good, it lacks expression, the story is still captivating.
Am I sick for wanting the ending to be less upbeat? Probably. But everything tied up too nicely. Like the psychologists said, it all felt too arranged or organized or something. Rushed, almost, despite the slow pace of the last few chapters.
That, and I don't for a second buy the whole "depressed because her parents were too good at parenting and too rich" thing.
Still. Very good manga. Highly recommended to anyone reading this.
Nice. Ending leaves heavy feeling though. Well, kinda expected.
wow im glad i found this. i was starving for something good and this was amazing
I think it's the most beautiful and serious manga I've ever read in my life. Pietà has caused many emotions to emerge inside of me and treat issues like suicide and social interaction that not many mangas do properly.
I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, though. If you're just looking for a cheerful and sickly sweet yuri couple, don't read it, because this goes way deeper than that. I'm even feeling proud of retranslating Pietà into Spanish!
a must read. I don't care if you dislike dark manga, or yuri, or abuse. It's a master-piece.
This manga is the storm and the calm that comes after. It made me realize i am a neurotic. I no longer know whether love is a troubadour's fairy tale or extending of my ego's boundaries to include another and the spiritual nurturing of one another. I know what i did after i finished reading this though:
-me screaming- "Fuck you Sigmund and fuck you Peck and FUCK YOU FAIRY BITCHES!!!"
-me proceeding to fill a bucket with hot water and wait for my girlfriend to come home-
-me greeting her puzzled&confused- "Sit, i am going to wash your feet whilst the tea is getting ready."
-her smiling at me and asking me- "What is wrong?"
-sounds of futile resistance-
-by this point i wrestled her down, placed her feet in the bucket and hugged her tightly-
"Listen, my love for you is Pieta. It is profound, neither life nor death shall destroy it and this weak flesh fails to describe it for it goes beyond it!" And so i hug her laughter.
anyone who studies psychology or anything related to it should read this one. there are some rather interesting views on how different children can be, and how important proper communication is, as opposed to just relying on theories made up by people who didn't ever meet the person you are trying to understand and/or treat.
I think maybe I'll reread it now.
