The fact that the magazine itself had to end for Pastel to end is proof of it's semi immortality
Indeed. Or made it a family business, like Family Circus and Dear Abby.
kkkkkk, Unbelievable right? I didn't think I'd see this while I'm alive. xD
Actually It's not only Pastel is over, the Magazine Special is over too.
"In August 2016 it was announced that the magazine would cease publication with the February 2017 issue."

Almost all the manga published ended in the last issue, including Pastel.

And goodbye Magazine Special:
It's not so much that I'm jonesing for more Pastel, it's just the thought of Pastel not being literally endless weirds me out. It never changes; I figured it would keep going on and on until the mangaka died of old age and they handed it over to a ghostwriter and still kept going.
No it isn't. I'm not sure what genre you're talking about, but I've never seen a romance manga, slice-of-life or no, go quite this slow no matter which demographic it was aimed at. Except possibly Yesterday Wo Utatte, which is as notorious for slow as Pastel. It isn't as long, but on the other hand nobody's even gotten together in their final configuration yet at ch. 103, much less kissed.
Well i've been at the latest for long time but the thought just crossed my mind. I know i should already give up the aspects i wanted when it comes to this manga.
Oh boy then this isn't the genre for you. 145 chapters is on the fast side.
Usually i don't mind mind innocent sugar stuff though they've already kissed a couple more times(and Mugi got to 2nd base once) but the progression isn't that fast enough for the sheer amount of chapter it has.
Though it's still better than most romance/harem manga i wish the couple would at least progress(sex)
I know this isn't a josei manga or something but at least have an implied scene for that (get them married or something if it doesn't fit the characters personality) (srry i'm just rambling since this are one of the more decent romance manga i could find )
CUrrently, around 40+volumes, so even if it "ends", there are plenty of chapters that it will take a whi8le for all of them to get translated.
I am trying to process this information.
I don't know if we're running into some kind of strange usage difference, but it looked like you said Pastel would end. So we're clear, that means, like, finish--stop happening, no more chapters, like that. This concept doesn't make sense to me.
Around 80 I believe.
Hey, they kissed a few times. And went to second base one time. Still, no further progress so far and that's up to vol. 43.
in what chapter they started going out? i can't seem to recall
they are. since... 2008 ? still waiting for a kiss.
they're still not dating yet?
So apparently this manga is STILL ongoing even now. 42 volumes and counting...I guess Mugi will never get some.
wow fellow onemanga reader, those were good times and yep, Pastel was there a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago, and a bunch of chapters to read and see how the couple progressed and regressed (mostly that), and suddenly it was over, there were no more chapters translated and it was like half the manga xD, still wondering how a lovecom can endure more than 14 years going like that.
I remember reading this way back, way back when onemanga was around. And since then I've continually tried to reread it, only to fail again and again. God, now when I read it, it's painful. Undoubtedly it's a good manga, if you're deciding to read it for the first time, I say go for it. Just know that while the other comments make jokes about the main couples progress, they're not joking. Hopefully one day I can reread this and enjoy it past all the pointless fan-service, distracting love rivals, and such and such.
Let's just say that the translation was very liberal. I checked on senmanga, and I don't think there was any banging involved in the original japanese.
I will get married, have a family, and my kids will be able to read this manga before it ends.
Those were the cat thoughts. She was going "Oh, cats, so simple and innocent" while they were all "I want to bang this chick, check out those boobs".
...Wait, was she speaking for them or were those legit cat thoughts? Disturbing either way.
Those cats. :3
