Starts off feeling like an archetype, then extreme archetype, and yet he ends up being a heartwarming character.

Edit: Ah, I nearly forgot the large serving of what the fuck to make this truly memorable. Thanks, Oyaji!

This man is larger than life. That's how a child sees their father.

YEAH!!!!!!!!

That story was just so... man, what a great story. What a childhood. I love you, mom! Uuh...

So manly my manly tears shed smaller, manlier tears.

Ah, there it is again. If all the other positive comments haven't got some of y'all on board, I ain't fixin' to correct your sins. But damn if this isn't one hell of a great read, fellas.

I'm glad it shows up at the highest rated series chart.
So more people can appreciate it.

This manga is exactly like it says in the synopsis.
But there is something that is missing from the synopsis that...

It is also filled with love.

Beware though because this is not a manga for everyone.
But anyone that want to evaluate it have to read it to the end.

What a terrible role model. o.0

For the seventeen years he's gone, I agree.
For the three years and one day he's there, I disagree.

This is a pretty kick ass short story. To me, it exemplifies what "Strength" is all about -- that one has to adapt to great conflict in order to be able to opposite it and overcome the obstacles that life throws at you. As such, normally, nobody would want to become "strong", as it depicts a high standard of conflict, misery and experiences, which demand one to live a truly difficult life to overcome. It's not really something most people would go for, but intuitively, there're very few people who cannot respect a person whom has such a rich history behind him/her.

This was a short, and pretty darn sweet manga. I'm glad I have the habit to click on random manga once in a while.

Reading this, I really respect my old man that had to work away from home. Constantly away from his family, doing the best he could to provide for them. I'm sorry dad for being such a disrespectful son. I'll make it up to you one day.

I remember reading this long time ago, but I don't remember this being so BADASS mmm...

And page 14 of chapter 23 is probably the manliest drawing I've ever seen in a manga mmm...

What a terrible role model. o.0

maybe if ur trying to be a sissy boy liberal

OYAJI!

lol at that dick

Always good to read this on Father's Day.

My Manly tears has dropped...

good one

Jesus.....slicing a man in half one handed with a shovel and later holding up a fat middle aged man who he impaled on that same shovel also with one arm ...and just the general way he acts his honor, toughness, kindness, wisdom all so perfectly mixed into one....they need to invent a new word to describe just how badass this guy is

The word is Oyaji.

Holy shit. WOW. I'd rate more than 5 stars if I could.

Always a good read on Father's Day.

still a great story to reread every now and then

Mandom. All of it. In one person.
Mandom.

What a terrible role model. o.0

Wait, what? Who is the terrible role model? Obviously you wouldn't be talking about Oyaji.

Talk about hardcore.
