This is neat. I like Nao despite her bad (for other guy) attention-seeking behavior. She's kind of a female manga character who's better when not love-brained.
It's a lot better than that other one-shot that came out recently where the terrible childhood friend somehow 'won'.
I don't really like yamada, and I understand Akio, she just really lost her chance, she could have made that step and she would be the one holding hands with him, Akio grew up with her as his sister (can be understood for how she can change clothes before him and he scolds her) that's why he treated her like that, and her confession was the step needed for him to see her as a "girl" instead of "troublesome-next-door-little-sister", that's why he was never going to confess to her, and why he was trying to get her with Yamada.
It's not usually the ending you see in a non-harem manga, that's why it probably hurts.
Some subtle life lessons, too.
Akio you ass. If you're going to cheat platonically, then just go the extra mile and fuck her before handing her off to Yamada. I mean, if my gf was doing that stuff Akio did for another guy, I'd be through. Everyone should already assume you've fucked. Just go for it. Schrodinger's fuck.
All this did was make me hate Akio.
