Yeah, Islam is really fucked up.. A religion that still thinks it's still living in the Medieval Ages..

Not really. Actually not even close unless you take the book literaly. In that case Christianity and Judaism are religions that think it's still the bronze age. As the OT/Thora is set there.

Depend where are they, 50% population of Singapore is, or 8% population of Sweden is Islam, but they are not medieval ages people. Other while, the Islam terrorist groups who are backed up by US (ISIS, Taliban), are the ones who living in the medieval age.

Also, ironic, Jewish, Chirstian, Islam pray to the same god, they come from same root that why all of them claim Jerusalem as their holy city.

>Sweden
You must be joking

Flags everywhere, flags here flags there!

he just said he will protect her, dead

they promised each other to stay together, dead

he wants to marry her, dead

he tired to ....    dead

This makes me thankful that gunpowder and howitzers were invented/innovated. getting shot or shwacked by bullets or precise ordnance sucks. But staying in a fortress waiting to die by starvation, disease or the sword sucks even more. siege warfare not one to be scoffed at.

Siege of Stalingrad. And Siege of Leningrad. Both are costly af.

You know, reading this manga has made me interested in the history of Jan Zizka and the Hussites, so certain outcomes aren't as surprising anymore (like this very Battle of Vysehrad). On the other hand, now I realize that the manga has an all-star historical cast, so that adds another layer to the fun (if you don't mind spoilers, that's it :().

Please don't. Religion itself is flawed to begin with, and that people have killed, and still kill over something whose existence has never been and most likely will never be proven is silly shit that has no place in this day and age. Be it Islam, Hinduism, Christianity or Scientology, when it turns to extremes it stops being religion and becomes an excuse at best, and a complete farce every other time.

Moral of the story is:
Religions are evil, could be used to mass control and reason for massace.

The funny part is: it is still true even now in Real Life

I want to go to japan and punch the author.

Explain why

Found this manga by pure chance, and I'd say it was a good find. The mood swings between horrifying Middle Ages brutality and happy/campy moments might be odd and not for everyone, as is the artwork, but overall a very nice read. Will follow.

Still, poor Irma. That was Elfen Lied/Berserk-tier of messed up, and considering this is historical fiction there is no convenient excuse like the supernatural or whatever.

...actually, poor kids in general, it's been a while since I've read a story where kids go out in such painful and/or fucked up ways.

Aaaand again, the horror of war. Sieges are fun in the movies, with epic assaults and whatnot. But waiting for weeks so that the enemy starves out? That was the norm. And it's soul-destroying. That poor kid going mad :(

If there's something I like about this manga is how everything seems fine and bucolic, and then shit hits the fan.

Ok, a bit over the top, but that was a sneaky yet highly effective plan. Distract the besieged with a bunch of flashy feints, then wallop them from the unexpected direction.

Hehe. When in doubt, do like the Black Company.

black death can infect someone that fast?

Yep. Usually anywhere from a day to up to a week after contact.

As a note, there are some rare diseases that can actually kill a person within hours of becoming infected.

black death can infect someone that fast?

Depending on her constitution and amount of shit she got hit with, it could. While it's probably not a system-wide infection yet, just a localized symptom, many people died as fast as within 2 days of being infected by the plague. That's one of the factors that made it so deadly - most people died within a week.

Romantic Nationalism: basically just the English translation of "Ahnenerbe". There was no actual Northern Crusade, in the religious sense (though imperial propaganda did try to present it as one); and the Hussites were motivated by an utterly idiotic quibble and, probably, political ambitions, not anything to do with the Northern "Crusade" (were any Bohemians even killed in that?). And a country with Japan's long history of butchering religious minorities doesn't get to talk this particular kind of smack.

Completely unrelated to the Hussites or this manga, but there actually is a Northern Crusade and several of them, but they were by the Swedes&co into Finland, the Baltic and the Karelian region. Though it eventually just ended up in Catholics and Orthodoxes killing each other for dominance in the region, with the locals getting trampled in the crossfire.

True, for awhile. At the time I guess we were more "terrifying", so to speak.

But soon the entire nation's politics devolved into greedy noblemen fighting for their own greed and lust for power, even resorting to treason just to keep what is theirs at the cost of the country.

Aye, but that is still a couple of centuries in the future at that point.

By the time of the story Lithuania had not even yet converted.

I've changed the cover to the one from a currently translated volume.

>cover

Is that her child?

f***ing spoilers right there

The HRR was by no means united. While Poland and Lithuania were well organized war machines.
