He pretty much sees himself in these kids. Both he and the kids got dumped in the deep end, surrounded by experienced players bragging about power-leveling who don't actually provide any helpful information. Yun just got crap from siblings and friends about how he needed to scrap his build and start over, until he puzzled something useful out himself - then they started acting like they were helping him all along. The kids are in a similar situation, as they got into the game a little late and now the information they find about low-level play is how to power-level, and they're trying to follow a completely unhelpful "guide" that barely addresses the prep work necessary for that kind of power-leveling (including assistance from a bunch of other, stronger players, which most newbies aren't going to get). And hey, he wanted to be a support anyway and it is a really chill way to pass the time while, say, gathering materials and prepping stuff on the side.
Which is strange cause there’s literally a whole series just dedicated to Myu, but I still read because I enjoy the crafting when it’s there, part of the reason why I liked Log Horizon so much.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who wonders about Yun's personality.
Fucking Alpharad get your lazy ass out of there and start training your super smash bros on the nintendo gamecube with Hax
She'll nanny rookies now, nanny PK next, nanny the strongest players sgyrt. Not gonna stop there, nanny the npcs, nanny the mob bosses, then nanny even developers. Who knows, she might nanny the game itself.
I remember this arc. It's right about the time the story started becoming stale for me.
One of the major things that bothered me about this arc, in the LN, was the amount of time it took Yun to ask golem-girl about the process of creating golems, or at least inquiring more about the abilities of Alchemy and Synthesis.
You know. Actual game mechanics you can play with, instead of just walking around in circles to nanny two random brats? The story stopped exploring new things, and just kept hammering about the same things without end.
And from that point onward, the story became even worse, due to the sheer amount of battle-arcs that plagued the story. It's like the author just wanted to write a story about Yun's paladin-sister, instead of the non-gamer "I want to chill out" Yun.
There's a difference between people who needs help and dumb kids who wants to be spoonfed everything and thinks they know everything and complain about everything
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Omae wa mou, shindeiru.
Yessss... praise me and my knowledge...
*slurp slurp slurp*
Because some times it's worth it? I helped two guys in Everquest 2 reach a certain destination through me using group stealth. A friendship was formed and eventually we made a server top 3 raid guild together.
Another guy I helped became my friend who I talk to every day and have so for close to 13 years.
People seem to forget the social aspect of MMORPGs.
it's fun to help newbies you know
makes you feel superior to them in-game
guhehehehe
She'll nanny the guy from Fist of the North star who says "Omae wa mou...Shindeiru." =P
She's called the "nanny" for a reason, you know. It started with pets, but now it's kids! Who knows what she'll nanny next!
why babysit 2 dumb brats ?
Oh man, that's not an ominous combination of sentences or anything.
not the pound cake
NOT THE POUND CAKE!!!
Yeah, and then there's the actual cooking supplies, oven, pans, and mixing gear, plus in this game and most any isekai story, you don't have a high quality precise temperature controlled oven, you have to manage the heat yourself, by controlling the fuel usually. In Yun's case, I believe the beginner oven cost a hundred k, and runs on a bit of your mp channeled into it, so that's another "skill" you have to add to the calculations.
RIP cake
Compare this to grabbing off the counter and paying for the end product. and you only want a 200g slice and not a few pounds worth.
Maybe
she's born it, maybe it'sMaybell--medium-level custom gear?True, these guys work for so long they even have relationship problems. People usually thing it's because of the whole Waifu thing. It ma have a part but it is not the main thing, they work way too much.
You can even see from their manga. Usual high school series, either the boy lives alone or they rarely see their parents.
And we finally have the two brats entering the scene. I'm looking forward to the PK Arc that will show up pretty soon.
"You're not gonna trick us that easily!"
Please, it's a common trope. If someone thinks you're an enemy, nothing you say will make them listen to you. At best they'll do the opposite.
Wouldn't saying "Behind you!" instead of running while shouting "Stop it!" be a better choice?
