Description: Mika, a high school student, has no doubts that she is a lesbian, few people around her know that though. She works at a cafe admiring the owner (she only has a thing for older women after all) and visits bars in the gay district. This story presents her life in pieces: from acquiring a surprising friend to helping a married woman discover herself and experiencing disheartening early love. All the while Mika is the confident young adult woman with an impressively mature mind.

Enjoyed the ride but disliked the ending.

Spoiler

The whole order of everything is confusing...

That guys is a massive asshole.  Hope she kicks him in the nuts and walk out of there.

I actually hope he gets what he wants, 'cause those girls are too dumb to deserve better.

Who the fuck says yes to the proposition of sex from a guy they know nothing about? They're just imagining things all by themselves.

Mayu was...'neither', until that point I don't think she's had romantic feeling for anyone.
This is something that I think belongs more in Eastern stories that doesn't get accepted that well in the west.

And the manga simply focused on these specific casts, hence why it feels like everyone's gay/bi/lesbian.

I mean, I'm pretty sure the hetero classmates outnumbered these .- . but since they're not important to the story the author simply never really mentioned htem.

Your spoilered stuff is interesting, although I do think it's more an emphasis thing than a clear cultural divide. Western fiction has internal struggles and journeys all the time, particularly the more highbrow stuff, but even more mainstream stuff. Even with Spiderman--sure, it's about his uncle's death, but his uncle's death is less about his uncle dying and more about the things it makes Peter Parker realize about himself and who he should be. The cliche term "Coming of age story" is all about internal journeys, although in the West they tend to be mirrored by external events.

As to the concentration of gay people--actually, I do think it gets pretty unrealistic in a certain strain of yuri (and probably yaoi, dunno, don't read enough of that to judge). But I don't mind. It's a convention they're using to explore some story stuff they couldn't do without it. It's way less unrealistic than many shounen or shoujo conventions I also accept, and far more important to story than conventions like the shounen "Every time a girl stumbles she will fall, and when she falls it will be in such a way as to put the male lead's hands and/or face in contact with her naughty bits". So whatever.

I wonder that a lot when i read yaoi/yuri. oo

so many manga's where literally every person that shows up is gay/lesbian. i can't help myself being kinda bothered by that since the odds of that irl are way too unrealistic.

though i think mayu was straight....at first.. i'm not too sure.

All in all, that was a pretty nice read~

Everyone in Japan is gay or what ? Maybe that's why Japan have low birth rate . No more joking but i find it little odd that there is so many gay people not even one straight person introduced to story .

OK, my problem here is I've totally lost track of just which bit of the story this latest chapter represents, which is particularly a problem for this chapter because I'm all "What is this girl doing messing around with guys, anyway?"

It's the backstory of the show owner and her 'not couple but totally love each other' friend.

Chronologically I think this is after Mika already graduated, in a way this means Fragment of Love is a prequel to this.

(And alternatively the school part would be pre-FoL... .- . since I think the two went to the same school Mika did but are also older than her)

Wait, was that really the end? Huh...that was a lot less progression than I thought. I mean, there still was in terms of acceptance, but it felt really off for some reason.

Awh

Even thought i know they won't together but i want mika with mayu

Japan is full of pedos, holy crap.  Good read, especially the very minor parts about reconciling with homosexual family members, but holy crap.  Men need to stay away from 13-year-old boys and not beat them up when they want to call it quits!

What is heavily implied, that thirteen-year-old girl is getting passed around between all the older patrons of that coffee shop.  The manager just lets it happen.  Is it because she draws business?  If you let your mind wander, this manga is extremely dark.

You might need to go and get some professional help.

I still really want Mika to be like, "i'm still not in love with you, sorry."
and just say she's a good friend.

Storm's a brewing with that friend.  Man this is a compelling read.

It's a good day for Yuri!

11 AT LAAAAAAAAAAAAAST :D:D:D I hope 12 will come sooner :D

The tragedy tag makes me nervous.  Surely it's just about Mika's past, right?  RIGHT?!

Thanks for the update!

Thank you so much for the update.

This is a manga where every chapter is good, even with the rare updates. Unlike most circlejerk manga where you feel a new chapter is just pointless until they finish scanlating it.

The gods have answered your plea... At least for now.
