However, his infatuation with himself is short lived when he falls in love at first sight with Miki, an innocent college girl and regular at the bar who happens to look a lot like Catherine. Although the two of them hit it off right away, Miki only knows him as Catherine, and to top it off, Miki already has a boyfriend. Not wanting to concede defeat just yet, Okama continues his struggle to get closer to Miki while trying to prevent her from making any progress with her boyfriend who just wants to get in bed with her. |

this was a great read and the essay at the end was nice too! if you like the first chapter then i definitely suggest reading the whole thing.
Well, can't say I liked the whole series completely, but that ending was really touching. Usually we see a story end with someone taking off the "disguise" and revealing themselves, then everyone hooks up with each other like in Shakespeare plays. Instead they seem to embrace it as how they express themselves rather than a disguise. It was a nice twist!
That ending was real, real dumb.
But I still enjoyed the manga a lot more than I didn't. Worth the read.
I liked it.
Kubota was the cool older guy right? He was at the wedding party too. Though no clue why he dropped out the story. Guess he had a life.
I'm sort of surprised so many characters came back for the wedding party. Though the director from the early chapters seems to have been forgotten.
But yeah, twisted happy end for everyone!
Wow, I can't believe the ending. Both crazy, unexpected, yet totally logical. Thank you, Hachimitsu, so much for translating this work. As always you show impeccable taste in bringing something both interesting but unique.
It was truly a magnificent, jaw-dropping, gut-busting ride. The ending chapters really touched well upon the narcissism and other psychological issues shown in this work.
He probably hooked up with someone much more better for him. (Since almost all the main characters in this are horrible people.)
DID NOT SEE THAT COMING.
(And based on my experience of reading a lot of genderbending stories... and when I say a lot... it's quite plentiful.)
Did anyone notice Dan-senpai on page 16 of the last chapter? (last 2 panels)
Looks like he got over his homophobia, Tarou and Tanaka got together, and so is our protagonist. HAPPY ENDING FOR almost EVERYONE (We haven't seen much of Kubota-san ... where did he went off???)
that was so satisfying of an ending!!!!
Around 20% of Shakespeare's plays included crossdressing at some level or another. You could draw a number of conclusions about, perhaps, conceptions of gender and sexuality in Elizabethan England, ideas of Shakespeare's own proclivities, or a more meta-statement on how all acting roles were played by men regardless of the character's gender. Those things can all be valid, but I think at the absolute core was Shakespeare's love of irony. Crossdressing is perhaps the most primal of all dramatic irony because of how it will so utterly and devastatingly twist the aspects of themselves that a individual may feel so central to their conception of who they are.
I would really like to thank Hachimitsu Scans for translating this. It was a perfect jewel of madness, comedy, absurdity, and irony. The core suspense of the last act was revealed in chapter 60 in the most fantastic, insane, and unexpected way possible. Yamashiro Hideo had to balance a very thin line of a number of things. How do you make so many contemptible characters yet still get the reader to both love their successes and their well-deserved failures? Well for me Yamashiro pulled it off.
One hell of an unexpected ending.
Cop out ending i say, cop out. At least for someone who like Kubota x Catherine ship. D:
It's almost like a prequel to Family Compo.
Well that was an interesting analysis by a Psychologist. That was an ending alright.
I can't believe is over... I will miss you, you bunch of weirdos.
We definitely got one demented protagonist (if it hasn't already been made sufficiently clear)
No, Miki, you're right. It can't be.
But he sure as hell wishes it could.
Well, I for one, I'm glad the subject of his weird narcissism is addressed as a "the biggest enemy is yourself" kind of thing.
Side note, Tarou is a dog name.
"I don't have a boyfriend."
Dang man this manga is brutal.
I can't even begin to imagine what these last nine chapters have in store.
