Description: Fujiwara Momoe, a girl who loves to eat, was raised by her rich parents eating only the best.

When her father dies from heart disease and Momoe has to support her and her mother, she can't stand the food that she makes (she never cooked before).

One day, she walks into a little French restaurant and recognizes the food from its taste. She had eaten it several years earlier when celebrating her birthday at a 5-star restaurant with her parents. She asks to work there as a cook under the head chef, Oda-san. She falls in love with Oda, but he doesn't notice her feelings and only considers her an annoying apprentice. This series goes through joy and heartbreak, as experienced by Momoe. How does the situation end?

Note: Was also made into an 11-part Jdrama, and a 20-part Taiwanese drama.

A masterpiece. Light and mature, and all in between. Best manga that takes place in a kitchen and outside. The author really knew what she was talking about when she wrote it and as someone who grew up with a mom who is a cook, all I can say it that it is very accurate and the mangaka even bothered drawing some brands that are mostly known to people who are knowledgeable and very well versed (like Alpensalz, which I can buy here in Germany). The food looks wonderful and real. Even the sensation of eating it is beautifully captured.

This is cooking, eating and living in it's essence and I read to many mangas that tried to imitate this one with boring unoriginal unappetizing food and characters. They fell flat and ended up being fast-food - food that will satisfy your appetite for a short time but does nothing more but to make you burb and feeling bloated in the end.

Note: You don't need to be a cook or really interested in cuisine to enjoy this. Most theme (Sport/Music/Job) based mangas fail to draw in the audience that has nothing to do with it's theme and isn't really interested in it. Most of the time you have to be interested in the theme in real-life to enjoy theme based mangas. Here you can leisurely read, discover and look around at your pace. The character development and cooking is interwoven, but it isn't bothersome or hinders you from enjoying it if you aren't the biggest cooking fan. There is plenty of stuff going on outside of the kitchen to make this story feel immersive and natural.

beautiful art, beautiful story. it took me two days to get this down. couldnt rip myself away from the story. what  a pleasurable read. wonderful relationships were built and so much character development was shown. was just hoping for a little more garnish in the end but thats just me. it has become a favorite

Ame muchisimo este manga! recomendadisimo!

This manga is great! The character development, the passion, romance that isn't overly cliche... I definitely recommend it.

wow this manga have a great old fashion,, i wanna wear all ofthem...

This author has impeccable fashion sense. I like.

I didnt cared much about the art style, the story itself is what attract me, momoe is an interesting character, she is annoying sometimes but have a great heart, each character have its own attractive points, but the character that i most like is oda chiyo, her personality is what i would call "perfect mood maker". She is definetely one of my favorite characters.
Kanako is the best character in this thing. If you have doubts about reading this, her story alone is worth the time to read it start to end.
I'm not very far into the manga (vol3) but I'll mark this as spoilers anyhow:

I haven't been this annoyed at a romance in manga since Hana Yori Dango! Ugh! (In a good way :D)
not only do i double post, i also spelled "more" wrong -_-
This manga is an amazing piece of art!
Sure, in the beginning i was like "Oh, yeah. The typical shoujo thing -_-"
But if u hang on and continue to read a couple of moore chapters
u suddenly get pulled in to "Momoe's world"
Yes, i do absolutely reccomend this to the people who wants moore than the typical love story.

This manga is better than it looks. The art is a bit old fashioned, and the characterization looks pretty simple at the start; the whole thing looks like it's going to be pretty one-dimensional. But it builds. The plot takes interesting turns, the characters develop, and the mangaka seems to get a better feel for the whole thing.
When I started reading it, I was like "Well, it's OK, I'll read another chapter or two", but by the end I really liked it. It's well worth a look.
