Aww man, that after story though, kinda tease for sequel which I don't think will ever happen mmm...
If you talking about shutting the VRMMO game down type of stories, may be japs going in post-modernism with those. Stories about VRMMOs grown huge in number and became very alike and boring. That gold mine gonna be all used relatively soon.

Is this an actual growing theme? This has to be the 3rd one of these that I've read this year and they all leave me more emotionally gutted ( I mean I'm in actual pain here) after reading them then the first time I read a NTR themed story.
