This is very good. It has excellent art. And, I don't know how to put it . . . some manhwa have a kind of edge to them that you don't typically find in Japanese manga. A kind of moody cynicism, with a melancholy atmosphere that's hard to pin down. Doesn't always mean they're good--it's just some kind of Korean cultural turn or something. I actually find many manhwa that have that feel to them but aren't done very skilfully are quite annoying.
But when it's done well it can be fascinating, and this one does it well.

Could you recommend me the ones that do them well?

I feel bad for Kim Dowook. He keeps taking unexpected jabs, hopefully the author will grace him with some happiness. I'm hoping that the prologue is just a swerve and that the ending will be something more kind, but that's probably not the case.

Excellent, Mr. Painter. Excellent.

Spoiler

Two at one, hurrah!  Moving along nicely.  Girl is now capable of taking on the look of an adult, reaching for that role, that power.

is this dead?

EDIT: apparently, not officially. It's still listed as In Progress on the group's page

chapter 46 is also out of order

I think the pages in chapter 47 are out of order. Had to jump forwards and backwards to understand most of the dialogue.

Ayup.  Pretty sure it needs a couple of fixes.

It's a painting, a celebration of beauty of the female form. Nothing wrong with that. It's not like a buch of perverts go to galleries to whack off. It's a place for culture.

All very true.  And yet . . . it would still suck.

It would suck to find a nude picture of the person you loved up on display for anyone to just stare at... -_-

Thanks for the chapter!

Things are working their way towards the surface.

Hooray for an update! thanks Evil Flowers!

Really like the atmosphere in this, every time I read a chapter I can't help but imagine the weather there is perpetually overcast and cloudy and I don't mean it in a bad way, in fact I really enjoy overcast weather with sunlight still shining behind the clouds but not enough to blind you.

I feel during overcast days everything feels a bit more slow paced, less chaotic and noisy and that's the exact feeling I get when I read this story, it doesn't have those characteristic shoujo bubbles and sparkles or energy instead there's a lot of subtleties and its a slow yet deliberate pace to it, definitely makes it stand out.

It's been subtle . . . kind of . . . well, largely unspoken anyway, which isn't quite the same thing . . . but really I think practically the whole story is about romantic and/or ultimately sexual tension between Yuri and her guardian.  All the relationships have that underneath them one way or another--they're driven or hindered or both by the two of them feeling, feeling jealousy over, or trying to pull away from, those feelings and that bond.

So people worrying about an "Usagi Drop" ending are kind of missing the point.  Where in Usagi Drop the whole story was about other stuff and pretty much nobody saw anything that foreshadowed a direction like that in the "father"/"daughter" relationship (making it rather a bogus finish), in this manhwa there really wouldn't be a story without that kind of ending being a possibility.  It won't necessarily happen, but if it weren't "in the air" the whole thing would fall apart.  The story will end when the central conflict is resolved either with them having a romantic relationship or definitively averting it.

The MC is getting colder towards her, it annoys me  :(

Purple Library Guy and I often agree on stuff like this, lol.

Also, Yuri is going to have terrible knee and joint problems wearing nothing but heels, and from such a young age.

That's probably because the last few have been heavy with flashbacks.  I hadn't read this in probably about a year or so, so I started from the beginning.  You might want to do the same.  If you like, you can read my quick synopsis of chapters 1-40.

That's very handy, thanks.

I like this manga and agree with everything Purple Library Guy said but I dislike the way lips are drawn, makes me feel like the characters will die of dehydration at any moment. biggrin.png

The only worrying thing for me is where exactly this manga is headed(relationship wise), ever since Usagi Drop I've been overly conscious of that part.

Also, does anyone know Yuri's age? Chapter 31 has left be bewildered and countless premonitions for what I'm most worried about are all there :S

As of chapter 40, I think she's 12 or 13, which is about the average age for when girls start their cycle.

And I know that feel, bro, I just wanna give everyone some lip balm.

I don't know about anyone else but I've been lost the last half dozen chapters.

Darknesssss

Thank to Scanlator for their hard work on this touching project.

Ah, yes, Usagi Drop . . . that ending kind of came out of left field, for me. (Although--when they do what we expect we complain it's predictable, when they don't we complain it doesn't make sense--writers just can't win)
Here it feels to me like there's been foreshadowing of the kind of thing you're worried about since the beginning.
