"War and Mundane" doesn't make sense in English, though. Perhaps "War and Peacetime" would be a more faithful translation, but "War and Peace" is clearly catchier.
Although I do agree it's fairly overrated.
Based Tadahiro and his awesome art style
obligatory "a cat is fine too" comment
I liked Anna Karenina, but on the whole I prefer Russian short fiction like Chekhov and Turgenev. Tolstoy has the tendency to drag on and on.
In most cases of a poor translation, the root cause is poor English (or whatever the final language is). Too many people neglect the importance of how it reads/sounds in the translated language.
It's "War and Mundane", not "War and Peace", damn it. Мiръ, not Миръ.
Also it isn't really good as a book. It's just big and historically important. Dostoyevsky and Bulgakov, on the other hand...
True. A lot of groups try to exaggerate how difficult it is to translate a manga, even without perfect translations, due to the pictures and simple storylines in place it's usually not hard to follow. I used to play machine translations of JRPGs, it'd be obvious that there were errors but the games were still enjoyable.
Exceptions to some manga like JoJo's which use a ton of references to things.
Aaaaaaand Highschool DxD
Thanks for putting this up
very short .... U_U
...not that it's a bad thing for either
I wonder how this was published, cause a 2 chapter thing seems weird to me. Maybe it isn't and I just don't actually know Tha Buisness.
This is the shortest non-oneshot manga I have ever read I think.
A shame Tadahiro doesn't get enough attention, I think he's pretty underrated as an artist.
To be fair, this isnt exactly War and Peace or anything.
You can get the gist of it on pictures alone, google translate it add a little creativity, you probably have something thats like 95% of the authors intent.
Thanks for reading everyone.
If you want you can use my redraws and upload a version with your translation.
Ow man, how I miss that perverted monk

Russian manga fan translators always translate with Google Translator. And without gut feeling. So, you can imagine the results.
The sad part: I had translated all of this a year ago and Derek never got the redrawn pages back from whoever it was he asked to do it.
The ceiling catgirl is watching you masturbate.
I couldn't stop laughing at the sudden "btw I used google translate lol I bet you idiots didn't notice :P"
I may be paraphrasing... but still. I think we'll all agree it's better to have a release that may be less than 100% accurate translation wise than no release at all
Pretty fuckin' impressive for not knowing Japanese. Maybe I'm retarded, but I couldn't tell at all.
