We are going to drop it. The whole reason we justify translating licensed series is that they're not being simulpubbed. If they are, there's not much of a reason to compete with a legal alternative, even if everyone can't access it because financial or regional issues. It was fun the short time we had with it!
TSP, are you going to continue translating the series once the full serialization starts, or since Yen Press is doing it are you going to drop it?

it seems yours isn't too. If i was serious and if i actually meant to insult, i would be more direct.
But yes, i didn't find that funny in the fact that i wrote my somewhat semi-serious take on a issue only for some guy that took the time make a joke at it's expense, implying that i couldn't separate reality from fantasy.
I know that i'm overreacting, but i guess it's more of a personal preference that i like more original jokes that use their own setup and aren't just a punchline from something not meant to be funny that others said.

Second, "obviously"? In a manga with mythological creatures interacting with people on a daily basis? Sure. You just didn't get a pretty tame joke.

In the Meiji era (which seems to be the setting here) social norms in the upper class of Japanese society placed strict rules on sexual conduct. With regards to a woman's age for consummating marriage, 20 was considered ideal. The feudal system under the Tokugawas had just been abolished and the peerage system was replacing it along with westernization. Japanese aristocrats below the ducal peerage were forbidden from maintaining a stable of concubines, so maintaining the health of spouses was considered much more important for continuation of the lineage. 20 (19 by modern reckoning) was considered a safe age for a woman to start bearing children, given the medical technology of the day. Additionally, the death of a spouse in childbirth was by this time considered a major loss to a family because imperial laws had made intermarriage between minor families extremely difficult to arrange. An aristocrat's wife was his link to a circle of influence, connection, and patronage, so losing her presented major risks to the family's prestige and future.

In those times, that's not what we call being married. If it's unconsummated, again, something fundamentally physically or mentally wrong with the person. Making her older would require additional exposition to explain why.
They are already married. It's just about consummating it.
