What a sad strange little story.

 

I wonder if the wolf's attitude has mellowed out at all later on. If they actually do chat at dinner about various things, that must make a very strange scene.

can i ask, what is six necks six legs thing?

Pretty sure the kitten is well aware that the mushrooms are hallucinogens. He eats them religiously. He made an active decision to see things as fun in order to stay by the wolf. He shows awareness of how gruesome his surroundings are (alluded to when he talks about resisting the urge to bury the stuffed animals when he's cleaning.) And he knows which mushrooms do what for him, like blue make fun dreams, and black makes you feel light.

 

Likely he put two and two together when the world turned pretty after the first time he ate the mushrooms.

 

Also, while his parents may or may not be killed by the wolf, they abandoned the kitten. They left him blindfolded, in a straitjacket, and alone deep in the forest. The kitten seems aware of his abandonment and thus wanted to "not be thrown away anymore."

 

Which actually makes the wolf right in that the kitten only cares for his own survival. Though maybe not a beast in the sense he's thinking.

Is the cat aware of the effects of the mushrooms and is purposefully doping himself on them to remain with the wolf? I think so. But that's less clear.

The kitten's parents were killed by the wolf after they went searching for food. And then the kitten found some shrooms in the forest and ate them (chocolate mint ice cream) This stuff makes all the gruesome things look fluffy, and all the good things look scary. The wolf doesn't know the kitten is hallucinating, and thinks the kitten is a monster that enjoys death and only tries to survive, so he thinks the kitten is like him, and decides to keep it alive.
