On the west coast of the US during a red tide, the water can be various shades of blue, brown, yellow or red. It can be quite a sight to see in some places, but the best part is at night when the water starts glowing from the plankton in it. It shimmers bright blue or green, and is by far one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed in my entire life!
