Simple because the best vengeance is absolute vengeance. Biding ones time to spring a trap and nail everyone all at once with no loose ends is the way of a master. It seems though, from what we've learned from chapter 30 is that most likely the MC and Mikoto are "linked" now in a similar way they are operating as a "two man cell" for their own goal. What that goal is? I'm dying to find out.

This manga has it hall, it has sex, fishing, mafias, fishermen, cults, human trafficking, magic, hacking... and it even has fishing!
Damn this confusing jumpy storyline, but I love it

This is my explanation:
Editor (E): "Daisaku-kun, this story is going nowhere, we are 4 volumes in, and this guy has done nothing other than fishing for fish and things that are not supposed to smell like fish, but sometimes do."
Daisaku (D): "I know right plenty of naked women, and beautiful scenery under the sea!"
E: "Daisuku-kun... this story is going nowhere, absolutely nothing of interest is happening, there's more plot development in 3 panels of a 4 koma that this."
D: "W-wha-what do you mean editor-san?"
E: "We will have to cancel it if nothing else happens"
D: "Oh... but i can save it! you remember that foreigner girl?"
E: "No, none of your female characters have had any impact in the story apart from lusting for the protagonist's dick"
D: "Right... well she turns out to be the former assistant of the professor, the one that started all of this and then went on plot vacation, remember him?"
E: "Hardly... the guy with half a brain, right?"
D: "Anyway she has lots of connections so she finds the guy and steals all he knows, and since he becomes useless to her, she leaves him there to rot, because she is a bad bitch and what not."
E: "How does that fixes anything? his situation is the same as before, no one is coming to save him, and the trump card to achieve his goals is now in the hands of some other people."
D: "... well remember poster girl? she has magical powers, so she magically finds MC, saves him but then she herself is in danger because she runs out of mana..."
E: **sigh**
D: "A-a-and so the professor comes and magically saves them both! because he is a genius who has become one with nature, and whales have sonar a-a-and.."
E: "Then what?"
D: "Then they meet with Gen and..."
E: "Fuck no, you are not making him into a fisherman again!"
D: "A... a-a-and then a timeskip happens! yes! and so we find ourselves 1 year into the future! a-a-and Gen has become a Yakuza Don!!! a-a-and he marries poster girl... but Ishii or whatever his name was is fine with it, because he was never about getting a girlfriend, and all that, he was not about that life, he is a focused man, so he gets back to his project! a-and..."
E: "Are you for real? you know what, fuck it, i will take it, is better than nothing."
