Metaphor are not supposed to be taken literally, you know? And the fact that the other girl cheated on him and broke up with him as nothing to do with her possibly being a metaphor for a cat. I'm not saying that you can't dislike the story, but you are using completely unrelated points to disprove what that other guy is saying.
If shes a metaphor for a cat, that makes the story pathetic.
Guy gets cheated on by girlfriend and breaks up. Guy adopts stray cat and uses stray cat as fap material. The end.

Well since if it's a oneshot there's nothing to drop about but it really was lacking comedy. Not sure what part of it made it deserve a romance tag either.
Try it because the author of Kyou no Asuka but this is not my taste.

Nah his ex-girlfriend dumped him for whatever reason, cheating wasn't mentioned.
He made a bad move afterwards though, choosing this *&^%$ over his ex.
