hey thanks well im following this one thats a star for sure its a pretty funny story so far
Nah, many bromance stories get shounen ai tag too.
Shounen Ai can be innocent/platonic to romantic.
Yaoi is the explicit one.
This one has probably SA tag because of "Papas" overly father love for his son. But it does not go over the family line (so far I can see).
I thought it was uploaded by mistake to Batoto but even on the scanlator site it actually is ch 3 labeled as 4, 3 months after the last upload. Wut
I was excited for an update but it's just chapter 3 again labeled as 4.
His father sure is annoying.
Oh hey, speaking of manchildren, I've found another one! Do you also have a feminine dick? hmu baby
Interesting read.
Well, broadly that is correct for professional translation in the entertainment industry (though, for instance, in academic circles translation notes in the margins are quite common)...
But there are quite a few of us who in practice prefer a good dissection of the original text, and if scribbled in the margins all the better (flipping back and forth to notes at the end can be cumbersome, and might involve spoilers).
Since these aren't commercial translations, I don't see why anyone should feel obliged to conform to commercial standards. I've always thought one of the nice things about scanlation is that they're generally free from aiming for the broadest possible / "target" audience.
Hoo boy, can't get enough of critics that don't know how to be constructive.
How about writing your criticisms in a way that isn't so antagonizing? If you don't understand how worthless your comment becomes as a demanding freeloader, delete your post and rewrite it properly.
This is for all would be criticizers of scanlators: you are not doing the work. Since you are not, take the 20 seconds to write in a way that will not get you the opposite effect of what you want, else you will ruin it for both yourself and others who do appreciate the work. Good constructive criticism should not ever sound like a demand at all.
-----
For the record, no hate; this was written purely to demonstrate that you sound like a bum. I assume that's not your intention.
I appreciate the scanlations, and actually agree with what you're saying about what should be done. Just not in the tone you wrote it.
Hoo boy, can't get enough of those translator's notes.
How about translating the dialogue in a way the jokes and idioms make sense to the readers instead of plastering paragraphs of superfluous text onto the pages themselves? If you feel you must get every single detail of the original text across, add a separate explanation page at the end.
This is for all would-be translators: TN used sparingly explaining a pun or a concept that can't quite be expressed in the language translated into is acceptable, but anything beyond that disrupts the pace, and is plain annoying. A good translation shouldn't feel like it's a translation at all.
Chapter 3 is already available on Nekyou:

It will be released on Batoto after 6 hours
Traps
This manga as a whole is a practicum nefastum...
This art seems... Very familiar... Though the usual target in the author's other "manga" was the brother.
Will... you become our translator?
Page 3 "If you can read this, please become our translator" made me laugh more than the manga.
Thanks for the recommendation it was pretty funny.
...and I'd thought the dating-my-sister manga was weird enough.
I'm gonna need confusion medicine for my boner while reading this.
