| Description: | Tadayasu Sawaki has just enrolled in an agricultural university in Tokyo with his long-time friend Kei Yuuki. Although not known outside a close circle of friends and family, Tadayasu has the unique ability to see and communicate with microbes, which appear larger and look different to him than they do to a normal person's eyes. This catches the attention of Keizou Itsuki, a professor at the university and an old friend of Tadayasu's grandfather who specializes in microbiology and fermentation. Thus begins Tadayasu's tutelage under Professor Itsuki, aided by his graduate student Haruka Hasegawa, as he attempts to adjust to his new life at the university. Moyashimon won the 2008 Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize's Grand Prize and the 2008 Kodansha Manga Award for general manga. It was also nominated for the 1st Manga Taishō award in 2008. |

Hm... so in the manga Haruka is paired with him (no spoiler)?
And in the live action she is paired with another character. Probably because of the 12 eps restrain so the director just went with a majority route.
Rather, it died and was replaced. If it was so clear-cut there wouldn't have been a weird and petty succession war.
Replacing Nyaa is a much simpler technical challenge than replacing Bato.to though (although IMO talking about HS is a non-sequitur here? HS is pretty different from nyaa and was already around).
Nyaa was mostly just a torrent tracker and those are comparatively lightweight (it's not a 1-to-1 comparison but I beleive The Pirate Bay's database fits on a thumb-drive). Batoto on the other hand should, by some back-of-the-envelope math, have at least few hundred terrabytes of images to store and serve, and there's the rub.
But Nyaa is still alive, it changed servers, domain, retained the name and is still working.

Unfortunately, those ideas are highly incorrect, given what we know (both in-manga & batoto).
Basically, just posting this as a reminder that Batoto closing is hardly the end, as a similar situation happened last May with Nyaa torrents, and from what I've seen, HorribleSubs has stepped in as a replacement, at least for the time being. This will likely be how the situation goes after Batoto closes, although this time at least we (the community) have some advanced warning.

Well to be fair other than batoto there is no other site like that, so either we jump from group scanlation sites/blog to another or use aggregator sites like mangafox,mangatown,mangahere etc. Sad, truly sad day. I remember when onemanga also stopped...

tbh, I was also didn't know either any similar website like bato.to which give full credits to translation/scanlation. so, probably I'm going to jump here and there on their personal blog or simply use those aggregator site to look for an update and then go to translation blog/site.
this might be really inconvenience to be honest, so I really expect bato.to inheritor soon.
when bato.to down it's going to be really difficult for small translation team which don't have blog or their own website.
Isn't manga updates (http://www.mangaupdates.com/) just a site that list manga/doujin series and their scanlators? They used to link to the groups' websites but that is in the past. It's not really an online reader. Or is there something else?

The drinking part isn't the problem. Nor is the crazy drunken antics. Oktoberfest already made that clear. Everyone actually loves drunk Mutou. What everyone has a problem with is the aftermath: Hungover slob in a ditch. Basically what she needs to do is end the drunken revelries at home and wake up where no one can complain.
the new girl ... was it only me that she has the same face like Kei and the other doppelganger, or it was because author art style? tbh, the way author drew female eyes was almost similar if it was not because their hair or clothes probably I would be unable to tell whom or who.
The fact that the author just ignores any and all demands for clarity re: Kei's gender/sexuality/relationship status actually makes me so, so happy. I'm hoping that isn't ruined by some cheap "trap" reveal in the current arc. Kei and Itsuki are the only characters left dedicated to actually keeping this a manga about fermentation! Just let them make sake!

This arc sure is...something.
Also Kei's portrayal continues to confuse me, even if it's pretty good. It's like the author just doesn't want to fully commit to any particular direction with his character so a lot of the time the characterization is just kinda...confused and all over the place.
Expected nominee was very expected.

I had checked if this was scanlated at all sometime in 2016, so was extremely shocked to find that it was being scanlated, particularly just how much in such a (relatively) short time! Finding that out made me unbelievably thrilled.

I dont think ill ever find a manga that strikes a chord in me like this while also making me smile so much while reading it.
